The New Amalekites…Islam in Prophecy pt 7

And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.(Exodus 17:14-16)

Do you remember the Amalekites? These descendants of Esau were the terrorists of the book of Exodus. Rather than waging a frontal assault on the children of Israel, Amalekites staged raids on the weak, sick, lagging members of the congregation , and slaughtered them without mercy.

God definitely wanted Israel to remember them,

Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God.(Deuteronomy 25:17-18)

We were reminded of the Amalekites  again recently when the news came out about the terrorist assault on a Jewish family, in Judea. The Udi Fogel family were murdered in cold blood by members of the militant wing of the AL Aqsa martyr’s brigade, of the Fatah political party.

While the Fogel’s slept or read in their own beds, terrorists slipped into a home, stabbed a three-year old in the heart,  slit the throats of an infant, an eleven year old reading in bed, and his sleeping father. They then slaughtered the children’s mother as she came out of her own bathroom.

The doomed “Palestinian” state of Gaza held street celebrations over the murders, passing out candies and dancing for joy in the streets.

These are the modern Amalekites. They may or may not be physical descendants of Esau’s grandson, Amalek, but they operate in the character of an Amalekite. Celebrating the stabbing of a three-year old by grown men? Passing out candies for joy over the slitting on an infant’s throat?

We have been discussing the fate of Arab nations in Bible prophecy, for the Lord has much to say about the inhabitants of what was once known as Ammon, Moab, Edom, Tyre, Damascus, Persia, Lebanon, Egypt and Libya.

There is an expression in scripture, a Hebraism, which calls certain ones “Sons of…”this or that. The two disciples of Jesus were nicknamed “Sons of thunder” for their temper. Antichrist is called “The Son of perdition” because he is already damned.

In other words, it is not a reference to biological descent, rather it means one who is “in the character of” a person or trait. The Arab muslim world operates in the character of Ishmael, who hated Isaac, and in the character of Esau, who felt cheated by and vowed to murder Jacob. Islam has taken up this “perpetual hatred”.

Islamic terror causes these people who perpetrate such atrocities, and those who openly celebrate them, to be “Sons of Amalek”.  God told Moses and Joshua that He himself would be at war perpetually with Amalek.

Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.(Exodus 17:18)

These nations who jeered and celebrated in Israel’s calamities, time after time in the wanton slaughter, dispossession, and terror of the Jews in the land God promised them, are noted by the God of Israel, and marked for judgment.

This is a direct word to these  gloaters in the book of Obadiah,

For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever…

But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.(Obadiah 10-12)

We need to pray that God will have mercy on these people, and grant them the ability to see that they are in a satanic religion and on their way to hell. Islam is a murderous deception which obviously snuffs out the humanity of its worshippers in proportion to the devotion of its adherents.

But we have all heard the countless redeeming stories of Palestinians such as the Hassan Yusef Massab (Son of Hamas), and Walid Shoebat who have found the saving grace of God in Jesus Christ, and obtained the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Thanks for your articles on modern day islam. Sometimes when I hear of these murderous reports and how they gloat and brag, I don’t feel like praying for their salvation but for their judgement. Even though I know better. Thankfully, the Lord is merciful.

  2. Scott says:

Thanks for the article . Can you tell me Who are the real modern Amalekites?

    Thank you

    Shalom Bill

With all meekness and humility, may I ask how exactly sure are you that the Amalekites integrated into the Arab peoples? Do you have any proof of this? Historical or genetic proof?

    • billrandles says:

Thanks Severanio. The truth is that by the time Amalek was born the integration had begun. Esau, Amalek’s granfather had already married into Ishmael’s family.
      Here is a reference from the Jewish virtual library;
At the time when the Midianites, Amalekites, and Bene Kedem had become a rare sight in the land of Israel a biblical writer explained to his contemporaries that these were a species of Ishmaelites (cf. Judg. 6:3, 33; 7:12; 8:10, 22, 26 with 8:24). The account of the sale of Joseph mentions an Ishmaelite caravan on its way from Gilead to Egypt (Gen. 37:25, 27; 39:1). The same account also calls these traders Midianites (37:28) or Medanites (37:36). The identification of the Midianites, Medanites, and Amalekites with the Ishmaelites, as well as the inclusion of the latter’s areas of habitation with that of the Amalekites, support the assumption that during a specific period the Ishmaelites were the principal group of nomads on the borders of Palestine (cf. Gen. 16:12: “He shall dwell alongside of all his kinsmen”; 25:18: “they camped alongside of all his kinsmen”; and 21:18: “… for I will make a great nation of him”). It is also possible that groups that were not directly related to the Ishmaelites were sometimes called by their name (Midian and Medan are listed among the sons of Abraham and Keturah, Gen. 25:2; I Chron. 1:32; Amalek is listed among the descendants of Esau, i.e., Edom, Gen. 36: 12, 16; I Chron. 1:36). It appears that this period ended no later than around the middle of the tenth century B.C.E., from which time on there is no mention of the Ishmaelites in the historiographic and literary sources in the Bible. http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/judaica/ejud_0002_0010_0_09678.html

Thank You for your timely response, Rev Bill Randles!

So, in light of this findings, what can we make of this? God said in Malachi 1:2-3 “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated”, yet in Genesis 17:20 God promised to bless Ismael’s descendants exceedingly.

So, if Ismael and Esau’s descendants have since been intertwined with each other over the course of the centuries, could God still be “enemies” with them (As referenced in Malachi 1:2-3), OR, are they beloved by God (as referenced in Genesis 17:20)?

This is something that I cannot seem to make sense of.

After receiving your response within due time, I thereby will not answer anymore questions on this topic.
Thank You and God bless you for your incredible work in proclaiming the Gospel!

God has blessed Ismael’s descendents exceedingly. The Arabs are a great nation, wealthy and powerful. the ultimate blessing is in Ishmael clinging to the God of ISaac and Jacob. A good many Arabs have also become Christians. unfortunately the Arabs for the most part are in the grip of an antiChrist religion, Islam, and therefore cannot appreciate the many blessings God has given them. As for Malachi 1, that is a reference to election, which one was chosen to bring in the “Seed of the woman”? God chose Jacob over Esau. Either of them could be saved but only one of them could be the bearer of the Abrahamic promise.Grace and Peace
