The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.(Psalm 33:10-13)
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. (Genesis 12:3)
I believe that today our nation crossed a line. When our president, Barak Hussein Obama called for the establishment of a “Palestinian State”, and the restriction of the nation of Israel to her pre 1967 boundaries, America transgressed against the God of Israel, rendering us liable to judgment.
God has a foreign policy doctrine for the “heathen”,(ie nations) to subscribe to. He said of Abraham, and of Isaac and Jacob,“I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you…”. The Holy God declares to “the Kings of the earth and their rulers”, that He has appointed the King Messiah to rule and reign from upon his Holy hill of Zion.
He has promised to bring all nations down to the “valley of Jehoshaphat” where he will bring suit against them for scattering His people, Parting his holy land and casting votes(the U.N.?) against his people in a world deliberative body.
For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. And they have cast lots for my people...(Joel 3:1-3)
Now our US President has announced his own “doctrine” for the Middle East. It involves supporting the “Arab Spring”, which is the overthrow of oppressive Arab governments in the name of popular democracy, which has spread from Tunisia, to Egypt, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and many other Arab nations. Underneath this movement is the loathsome Muslim Brotherhood, the grandfather of modern terrorism.
Egypt, the largest Middle Eastern Arab country, has been the scene of the vicious persecution of Coptic Christians, carried out in church burnings, mob beatings and killings, rape and mayhem, since the fall of the Mubarak government.
There is no one but God himself who will step forward to aid the beleaguered Coptic Christians now suffering the fruit of Obama’s “Arab spring”. The interim Government, the military, the police, the U.N., and the Obama administration all look the other way while the Muslim brotherhood orchestrates deadly pograms against the remnant of Egypt’s Coptic church.
The centerpiece of the new Obama doctrine? The establishment of a “Palestinian State”, in Gaza and the West bank (ie Judea and Samaria). The United States now takes part in “Dividing the Land” God gave to Abraham,Isaac and Jacob, at the expense of Israel, the only true friend and democracy in the region.
Elections have consequences, therefore Divine judgment hastens to America.
God does rule in the affairs of nations, there are indeed national judgments.Consider;
*The Soviet Union– the onetime superpower rival of the west, feared by all. But they bitterly hated and persecuted the millions of Jews who had been scattered there, until God brought them down into the ash can of history, in our life time!
* Germany – one of the most sophisticated and advanced people in the world, the land of Bach,Beethoven,Luther, and countless others. But unfortunately she fell under the spell of Anti Semitic Nazi’s. God brought Germany down in flames and she has never recovered to this day.
* Great Britain – One hundred years ago, truly the sun never set on the British Empire, for Britannia ruled the known world. But she promised the Jewish people a homeland, after World War One, but denied them the full boundaries, having promised the same land to the Arabs(Jordan).
When Jews sought to flee to Israel between the World Wars to escape the Holocaust in Germany and Eastern Europe, Great Britain stood in the way, severely limiting immigration of Jews, in order to please and pacify the riotous Arabs,(who were also Nazi sympathisers).
You know the story, the sun has indeed set on Britain.Immediately after World War 2, one after another the holdings of the once great superpower were either relinquished or removed. The onetime evangelical missionary nation to the world, is now struggling for it’s very identity as a sovereign nation.
America is not unique in that sense, we also must answer as a nation to God. We too face judgment, humiliation, national diminishment, economic collapse, loss of prestige, national disaster, ruinous leadership, as a consequence of our betrayal and abandonment of Israel. May God have mercy on us even in judgment!
Isaiah tells us what national judgment looks like, read it and weep,
For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water. The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient, The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator. And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.(Isaiah 3:1-4
My counsel is that everyone should make his own peace with God while there is time, seek the Lord while He can be found, call upon Him while he is near.
God has set the terms, that those who would come to him, must admit they are sinners, and must believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who came to die for our sins.God has vindicated Jesus, in that He raised him from the dead on the third day. Jesus is the one who is coming to judge the world in righteousness.
Turn away from your sins, and turn to Jesus! Change your mind about Sin, and about yourself, and most importantly about God! You need forgiveness! You need to be reconciled to Him against you have sinned! Through Jesus, God forgives all sin. Here is his promise…“Whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved!”.
