Our Spiritual Winter…(the election)

The recent re-election of Barak Hussein Obama has served to uncover the deep Spiritual crisis in America, particularly among confessing Christians. What a blow to the cause of freedom, playing by the rules,  and responsibility!

On election night, most people I know didn’t  expect anything less than  a reprieve from the four years long nightmare that is the Obama presidency. We sat in stunned silence, contemplating the new reality. We who cherish the American ideals of limited government, Judeo Christian morality, and sane servant leadership, no longer have the prevailing consensus, for now.

But perhaps our vision of the right path for America had to be terminated so that we could be better prepared for God’s agenda. How should we look at this reversal of our hopes? What do the righteous do when the wicked come to power?

God does things differently than we would do them. But consider this. Suppose America received a president who really could turn the economy around, cut taxes, bring back investments, and growth, and pay down the national debt, undoing the shackles Obama has put on our economy. Do you think our population would ever turn to God?

We as a nation did have decades of steady growth, with Reagan, Bush and Clinton and even under George Bush, and the nation is further from God than ever before. We know the ‘problems ‘ of this nation are all preventable and still fixable, but what is God doing?

I believe that God often puts his people in a position of seeming weakness in a socety, so that in our weakness he can display his power. We in our flesh always want to win,(Americans are winners, right?). But God uses seeming defeat to display his greatest victory. Would you have voted for David or Goliath in a fight?

* We aren’t the first Christians to be in this situation – We western christians think that our previous situation was the rule, but really in the big picture it has been the exception. The church has always been a ship in a sea of hostility to God and Christ, and usually doesn’t deal in any political power or influence, for our power is Truth, it is the Gospel, not polls, blocs and media savvy.

Doesn’t it always seem that the church fares better spiritually in an environment of open hostility to God by the state? Is not our greatest problem the apathy and complacency in the people we are trying to reach for God? They don’t realize they need God! The world has exerted a ‘soul deadening’ effect on them! Our generation is currently like Lot and his wife and children.

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.(I Peter 4:12)

* We shouldn’t become bitter about this political reversal – It is galling to see the seeming triumph of the godless, to hear Obama tell us he won the debate over taxes, policy and ‘values’.  It hurts to think that power might have been stolen, when we read of wards voting 100% for Obama in swing states, such as Florida and Ohio, or of the county which went 108% for Obama!

But are we not told that “The whole world lies in the wicked One” ? What did we expect?  Politics concerns pure, worldly power,  power to influence, to disburse the public funds, and to wield influence in this world. True there is a Biblical use of political power,(See Romans 13) but an amoral people can only have an amoral system, one in which the conscienceless and most ruthless usually prevail.

How else could a nation which has slaughtered 50 million of its own most helpless, and profaned the Holy, such as marriage by redefining it to “include” sexual deviants end up?

The bitterness and disillusionment that has surfaced among many christians only tells us that we have set our hearts upon something other than God’s Kingdom.

We have to guard against hating the “revenge voters”; ie the Obama coalition of illegal immigrants, homosexual activists, Muslims, the envious, racists , socialists, and the immoral who expect productive people to pay for their “birth control”.  If we hate them, we deny Christ and become like them.

It is all understandable, after all I don’t want to raise my children in Obama’s America, But here we are! Are we going to live as pilgrims in this world? As christians? Here is our opportunity to “Shine”!

* We should overcome evil with good-  I am not going to deny that I do believe that what has happened to America is evil and will have profound ramifications for whatever time is left for us on this planet. We have experienced another coup de tat, (the first one being 4 years ago).

But we must realize that God works in the affairs if men, and His sovereignty is what is driving these events. God doesn’t want us to make this world into our cozy home… He wants us to look for “a city, whose builder and maker is God”.

For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God…By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise…But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.(Hebrews 11:10,18)

Every chance we get we should love our enemies, and seek to do good to them. Certainly we should pray for them, and be prepared to help, because their godless Utopia is doomed to collapse upon them.

* Give place to the Sovereignty of God- Now is the time to remember the teaching of Psalm 37. The assumption is that it actually looks like evil is prevailing and nothing is being done about it! This is extremely demoralizing to many christians, but God often works in such circumstances.

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.(Psalm 37:1-8)

Obama is indeed evil the antithesis of the values of this former Judeo Christian nation, will not always get away with his divisive leadership, his character assassination of the rich, the productive. But the LORD is seeing all of this, and will not ignore it. We have got to believe God!

These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.(Proverbs 6)

* Lets realize the times- Jesus told those who came to arrest him“This is your hour and the power of darkness”. I believe this is true of “the current powers that be”. It is their (brief) time to really prevail and have their way for now, until the Cornerstone comes to crush them at his advent. “The God of peace shall soon crush Satan under your feet”.

It has never been a better time to be a Moslem, or a race pimp, or an anarchist or communist. Enjoy it while you can! They are making gains they never thought possible, the last Judeo Christian Bastion of worldly power seems to be collapsing now and darkness descends on the earth. The night of Tribulation seems to be approaching.

I don’t see an American superpower in the last days, do you? If anyone does let me know, I have studied scripture for decades and have never seen it. We must decrease. But I am a Christian, I want Jesus to come back! I await the Parousia, more than the retaking of the house and senate! He has promised us a Kingdom, He is coming as you have heard. Maranatha!

  1. Yes Pastor Bill, we are in the hour of darkness, people don’t want the Light either. But our Light will never be extinguished, and soon He will reign. Come Lord, I say, come !

  2. Richard Smith says:

This piece is vintage Randles. As in England, the Churches in America are being handed over to the wicked. Given the level of apostasy, corruption and sheer stupidity I’ve seen within the Churches over the course of nearly four decades part of me think it jolly well serves them right. In a very real sense, they have been the author of their own misfortunes. The hard truth is that Obama is not only what America deserves he’s what Evangelical Christians within America deserve.

    • Chaz says:

Have you not read Revelation chapter 3. We are living in the time of the church of Laodicea. No wonder this is happening. Plus the very fact is the majority in this country either officially kicked God out with Roe vs. Wade and have basically asked him to stay out of our schools and the so called “Christians” have stood silent proving the church is similar to that of Loadicea.

      • Richard Smith says:

        Dear Chaz,
I’ve read the passage you’ve referred to many times and agree with your interpretation of it
        Richard Smith.

  3. Chris Highcock says:

    I am confused.
Would you rather have had the mormon win – who believes Satan is the spirit brother of Jesus etc?

The whole world is in the evil one – whoever wins. This world is heading for judgement, why get so bothered about this election?

  4. Mary Detsch says:

Pastor Bill, Thank you for this article. In these last days we must keep our eyes on things above, not on things below. Our Lord and Savior is coming soon!!! So many Christians are depressed, deeply saddened by the results of this election and I’ve encouraged many to remember who they are in Christ, and to remember that Jesus Christ is in control of all that is happening in the world. This world is under judgment, but the god of this world will be reckoned with very soon. I too am looking forward to the rapture of the church, and the coming of our Lord and Savior. The days are dark, but Jesus is the Light that shines in the darkness, we as His children need to shine His love in these dark times so that perhaps many will turn to the Lord and repent and receive His gift of salvation. God bless you Pastor Bill & Kristin and may God bless your church.

  5. Wayne says:

    Well said Richard. So true..

  6. Praise the Lord for His grace and mercy. I did not like to see BO get another 4 years but I was well prepared for it as I’ve been saying for months that he would easily get another 4 years. Whether we like it or not BO is God’s man for the States (and the world) at this time. God will use him for His purposes. The church needs to forget about BO, and all the other godlless world leaders, and get on it’s knees in true repenentance. All it takes is one person with a heart so strong for God and totally sold out for Him and who knows what can happen. God can change things in the blink of an eye. However, as you point out Bill, do we really want to see greatness and prosperity come back to the land when all it will do is help cement the place of untold millions in hell? That is exactly what will happen if God allows us to come back to former glories at this time in history. God’s eyes are on the eternal picture willing for none to perish. As I was saying during our Bible study last night BO has only implemented about 10% of his agenda. What we are now about to see is BO raw and unleashed and it’s going to be absolutely horrific. This is why we need to be constantly before the throne day and night. If we are hearing from God then we are going to fall by the wayside and apostasise. Romans 11 tells us that we Gentiles recieved God’s mercy becaues of the Jews disobedience. Likewise, the Jews (all Israel) will also receive that mercy in due time. We were once disobedient yet we received His mercy thus the Jews who are currently disobedient will also receive His mercy. The really good news is that God’s mercy is still available to all including the godless leaders we have!

The Lord is fully in control but we the church really need to wake up and smell the coffee and do exactly what He tells us to do. Praise the Lord that there are still people in the land who are a voice for God. We have you Bill and others such as brothers Jacob Prasch, Phillip Powell, Aeron Morgan etc BUT we need to see others rise to the challenge! This is not a time for the church to retreat into a bunker mentality. We need to stand up whatever the cost!

    Praise His Mighty Name!

    Romans 11:36
For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

  7. PS – I meant to say in my last post “if we are not hearing from God”!

  8. Evie says:

Many Aussie Christians also watched with dismay the election of Obama because Australia usually follows America in so many ways and our election is due to be held next year. We should not be surprised for after all, it is generally true that our leaders are mostly a reflection of society.
Thank you especially for reminding us that – “…perhaps our vision of the right path…had to be terminated so that we could be better prepared for God’s agenda.”

Yes the the light is dimming and many hearts are hardening against Jesus and His gospel, So may we indeed mourn, pray and warn as Jeremiah did, because the destruction of this world’s system is surely coming, but we who are in Christ, look forward to King Jesus’ glorious return.
Thank you again for your post Ps Bill.

  9. Wayne says:

I am puzzled by the number of “Christians” who seem to be obsessed with the idea that Romney a “Mormon” might be more godly or provide more godly leadership than Obama. I am unable to see any difference between the funding of abortion and a refusal to fund adequate social welfare for the poor and needy however they arrived at that state. Mercy and concern for fellow human beings is repeatedly shown to be an attribute that God requires of His people.
From a christian perspective it is particularly abhorrent to see the insistence by the wealthy that they should not be taxed a little more to enable the government to provide such levels of assistance. Greed rather than Godliness seems to be the overwhelming motivator among most desperate right wing “christian” Republican voters and this is just as disgusting as the wholesale apostasy committed bible believing Christians are witnessing throughout was was once Christianity.

Sin of any kind is sin and the wholesale apostasy evident within the christian church means that genuine Christians really should be more committed than ever before to the true gospel of Jesus Christ and the TRUTH revealed to us in HIS written word the Bible than ever before.

There really is NO excuse for these political distractions for those who truly love the Lord Jesus Christ who Himself has warned us that the world will hate us because we belong to Him and are not of this world.

It is difficult to remain humble live justly and show mercy when all around us is greed, selfishness and corruption but this is what the faithful remnant must continue to do until the judgement day.

  10. Wayne says:

    James 5

    New International Version (NIV)

    Warning to Rich Oppressors

5 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[a] 6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.

    Patience in Suffering

7 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8 You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. 9 Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

10 Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

1 Timothy 5:18 18 For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,”[a] and “The worker deserves his wages.”[

    Leviticus 19:13

¶ Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbor, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.

    Deuteronomy 24

14 Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:

15 At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the Lord, and it be sin unto thee.

    Jeremiah 22:13

    Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by wrong; that useth his neighbour’s service without wages, and giveth him not for his work;

These are the real poltical issues in the USA observed which need to be addressed before the hysteria we have been witnessing from the so called christian right can be given credibility amongst commtted bible believing christians.

    Micah 6:8

    He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you?
    But to do justly,
    To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God.

Forget politics and commit wholeheartedly to the faithful exposition of the Word of God.

  11. John Eagan says:

Hi Pastor Bill and BIG GOD is still in control for we know our citizenship is in heaven pray that we can continue to preach the Gospel and win Souls for our power is in God and His Word Galatians5:6-26 GOD Bless in Jesus name Love in Christ Bro John and Teri

  12. Margaret Webb says:

I agree with you, Pastor, but I also wonder were true believers counting on Mitt Romney?Regardless of his political views, his religious beliefs are so foriegn to the Judeo Christian faith-it is only a superficial veneer, using the right terms etc, that deludes believers into thinking that he would have turned everything around. He is a man, he is a mormon with false beliefs-would he have done good for the cause of Christ? Only Christ can staighten everything out. We were not given a choice between two men running for president, we were given a choice of trusting only in the Lord or trusting in man.
We are pilgrims here, the politics of this world are just that; politics of this world
    Margaret Webb

    • Mary Detsch says:

I agree with you Margaret. I always vote in every election but I went into the polls feeling like our choice was God or Caesar. It didn’t matter who got in, Obama or Romney, both man are unsaved. It was amazing to me how many Christians felt Romney was a Christian, that there was not really that much difference between his faith and ours and he is heaven bound as well. How can any man have the light of Christ and yet be lost? The jesus of Mormonism is NOT the Jesus of the Bible. We truly are pilgrims wandering in the wilderness looking forward to the age to come. Lord Jesus come soon!!!

      • Conservadiva says:

I understand your concern, but God appointed Saul to be ruler of Israel before David. And what rulers since then have measured up? How many American presidents have been Christians? Yet our forefathers voted faithfully for the principles of godliness. So much focus is placed upon the individual candidate, but consider the broader picture of the Supreme Court nominees? Romney had a pro-life platform to uphold. Obama will have free reign to appoint judges who will vote for same sex marriage and abortion, and who have already voted for a “tax” for Nationalized Healthcare. As to the poor, Romney wanted to create jobs so that fathers could support their families. There have been nothing but massive lay-offs from jobs and closing businesses “Twinkie” since election day. Jesus is already on the throne. You are not voting for a Messiah, just a man who can be honest, truthful, hardworking, and uphold the godly principles I already mentioned.

  13. Maria Kneas says:

Thank you, Pastor Bill. That is very helpful. I have sent this to most of my friends.

  14. Jared says:

I believe that in our most recent election we saw Romans chapter 1 in action. Our country, both liberal and conservative, have been displaying an unquenchable thirst for wickedness for decades and I believe that God set up this election so that there was no choice but to choose a president who would bring further judgment against our nation. He is giving us over to our desires. Romney and Obama are both wicked, vile men and I am sure that if Romney would have been elected our nation wouldn’t fare any better than it will under another 4 years of Obama. Even if Romney would have made it into office, I believe that God would have sent a deceiving spirit to encourage him to do something disastrous just like he did to Ahab. Look at the other things that got passed on the election night! Legalized recreational marijuana, the first openly gay senator, 3 more states legalized homosexual marriage. How could God not send us a destroyer to lead us further into our iniquities?

  15. constancejulia says:

“The bitterness and disillusionment that has surfaced among many christians only tells us that we have set our hearts upon something other than God’s Kingdom.” This is so, so true – the crux of it is, that this world is not our true home, and the only time we will see righteousness and truth and peace and justice is when God’s Kingdom comes. A good reminder, whenever we feel upset with the injustice of this world, to re-examine our focus. Thank you Bill.

  16. Richard Smith says:

I have to agree with the other contributors who rightly assume that both presidential candidates represented two gateways into the New World Order. If Obama didn’t deserve to win the election his rival most certainly deserved to lose it. Facing the American people was a choice between the smiling charlatan and the slick charlatan. For Spirit sensitive Christians, the call is to abandon the illusion that there can be any political solution to the many increasing woes facing the Western World. They must get back to their bible centered gospel roots if they are to endure and be effective witnesses in the increasingly harsh environment they will face. In addition, they must also re-learn what it is like to entirely depend upon Jesus for their welfare. In other words its ‘back to basics’ time for true believers in the USA.

Let those with ears listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying through the re-election of Barak Obama.

  17. carmen says:

It was not about who was Christian or non-Christian, it was about who would support Isreal most. And President Obama doesn’t seem to do that. There were other things, but that was number one on my list. God ordains men, even our leaders to bring out what He wills on the earth. God showed me once that just as the time had to be ripe for the Messiah to come, the time also had to be ripe for the anti-Christ to come, not to be worried about it because He orchestrated the time. I then realized for that to happen, idealogy had to change, and you need a leader for that. People will not change their ideas contrary to God, unless they like the person, or believe in what they stand for. President Obama fits that bill, I knew that was what God was using him for when he won the election in Illinois, I knew then he would be the President that would move men’s hearts to be more accepting of governmental control, not that their weren’t others who started it, but to make people more accepting and think it is normal. We have to be the lobster in the boiling pot, or we would put up more of a fight. What amazes me are believer’s complacency not to recognize it for what it is and just say it. When I see the Obama’s, I see them as a beautiful family and pray for them. I pray for their daughters who seem to be growing up to be beautiful young women. Only God can change men’s hearts.

  18. Wayne says:

Apostasy and the resultant enthusiasm for and acceptance of New Age and Occult concepts within the church itself contributes much more to the acceptance of Antichrist ideology and un-biblical and super-biblical teachings and practices than political leaders and political ideology ever will.

Prevailing political ideology and practice is more likely to reflect underlying social values and community standards than influence them.

  19. Richard Smith says:

    A very good point Wayne.

  20. OLA says:

True believers in America weren’t in the least surprised that Obama won a 2nd term. Infact, they expecting it. For Obama is the lawless one revealed only to those who have perception in these last days. The Word tells us he will be revealed, when millions of Christians have fallen away from a living faith in Christ. The fact that 42 million Evangelical Christians voted for Obama the 2nd time around, tells me the Church in America and the world is ripe for judgment. Only those Christians who have a living faith,as suppose to a dead faith [James 2:17-26] in Christ, will escape the tribulations that’ll unfold in America and all over the world over the next 36 Months.

  21. pjmiller says:

Prior to the election and afterward I can’t help but find it strange to see so many of my Christian brothers and sisters referring to the president as “evil”. Weren’t we all lost sinners before coming to the knowledge of Christ? Isn’t it our Father’s desire that “all be saved”? Should we call all lost people “evil”? And how will you feel about that if one day this man comes to Jesus and finds salvation? Or maybe you don’t care if he does or not…Anyway,

You know an article’s author is going in that sad direction when the first line uses the presidents full name, “Barak Hussein Obama”. I mean, can you recall any past president or presidential candidate’s middle name being used in this manner? Like John “Sidney” McCain, or Mitt “Willard” Romney.

I write this as a long time follower of Christ folks…not as a politically minded person. One day, many politically minded Christians in this nation are going to have a lot to answer for when they stand before our Lord and Saviour. Especially the hate which has been and is still, being manifested toward this one man, the president, whom God placed in office.

    • billrandles says:

Thanks PJ, You are right that God appointed Obama to the office he currently holds. Howvere there is nothing “strange” abut Christians refferring to the man who has “Homosexualized” the military, advanced the cause of Abortion, and that also of homosexuality, as being “evil”.Don’t assume hose same christians aren’t praying for the conversion of Obama and his family daily. I, the author of this article do not understand what it is that you read into my account of the full name of the president. This was a president who (humanly speaking) was foisted upon us by an all too biased press, and was basically unvetted when he came into office. The fact that he has Muslim ties is not insignificant and should be (and should have) been noted. I don’t hate Obama and wouldn’t want anyone else to either, but in the interest of eing “as wise as serpents” and “harmless as doves”, I tell the truth to God’s flock.

      • I don’t know much but I do know that speaking the truth about anything these days is not well liked !

      • Mary Detsch says:

Some one said to me recently, “even though Obama is not a Christian he does some things good, so at times he’s a good man”. Others say “Even though Romney is a Mormon, and not a true Christian, still he is a good man”. Perhaps the problem is: people don’t know what the true definition is of “What is good?” Jesus asked the young rich ruler: why do you call Me good? The only thing good is “what proceeds out of the mouth of God!!” Romans 3:11, 12 is clear when it says “There is NONE righteous, no not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. All have turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, not one…..” and in Romans 3:23 All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” What makes a man good? Is it good deeds? Is it good intentions? There is nothing according to the Word of God that a man can do to be good, except Call upon the Name of the Lord and be saved!!!! I sincerely hope and pray Obama and Romney become saved, that these men do call upon the name of the Lord (repent and turn to Him). Until they do: they are evil men and can do nothing else but do evil. As we all were before we were saved, all we could do was sin and be evil. Only “good” thing we can do is “…that whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved.” Only then can we do “good” by doing the “good works” Christ give us to do (for they are His good works given to us, not of ourselves) all for the glory of God.

      • pjmiller says:

Thank you replying to my comment Bill. Reading it, I can see we just don’t agree on the subject and any further discourse on my part would only result in publicly striving “about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers” (2Tim.2:14). As one who very rarely leaves comments on anyone else’s blog, I know I obeyed God when leaving my original comment brother. So I’ll just end by asking God to bless both you and your family, and the ministry He has entrusted to you. May your ministry bring many souls to Christ Bill.

        pj

      • billrandles says:

PJ Thanks for the Christlike response. Believe me I took no offense, I believe that these forums can be good places for “iron to sharpen iron”. I hope you like the blog and thanks for the prayers- Your brother Pas Bill

    • shofar says:

Hi PJ, God bless you brother. I agree with what you said 100%. It is unchristlike and ungodly to call a President elected by more than 50% of Americans in democratic election evil. In fact we are not to call anyone evil for there is only one Evil which is Satan. Scripture admonishes us to pray for our leaders, for they are his servants appointed to do his will. I do not see Obama being worse than George Bush or Clinton or JFK. Let us purge ourselves of hate and prejudices. May God have mercy on those who are blind and lead blinds to destruction.

      shofar

  22. Spot on Bill. I know many people praying for Obama (including us guys here in Oz!) but that should never stop anyone telling the truth abou him. It is vital that we are all clued up. Jesus commanded us to “watch and pray” which includes watching what is going on in our societies. In response to PJ’s post I’d say yes, all lost people are evil. The bible makes this pretty clear (Psalm 14:2-3, Isaiah 64:6, Romans 3:10 etc). Ever since the fall, man is inherently evil – all men! This does not mean we should not pray for them or do good to them (Galatians 6:10, Mark 12:31).
I never fail to be amazed at the way Christians are attacked for telling the truth. I see this time and again. That old chestnut of being a “hater” is always wheeled out every time someone doesn’t like what a Christian says. I think it’s time for the body to wise up!
Praise the Lord for He is good!

  23. Richard Smith says:

To get things in perspective it’s helpful to see that Obama is as much a symptom as a problem. More specifically he’s a symptom of the awful apostasy happening in the American Churches and more broadly he’s a symptom of the shocking decline taking place in Western Culture. (i refer to his political beliefs NOT his racial background.)
