My One and Only Trump column…(I hope)

I have a lot of friends and readers who are baffled by what they consider to be the misguided “evangelical Christian support” for Donald Trump in America. It doesn’t make sense, especially in the light of the recent appalling locker room comments , revealed by Trump’s enemies(and by God, for there is nothing hidden that won’t be brought to light and nothing secret that won’t be shouted from the housetops!) . It just doesn’t make sense that although Trump is so manifestly immoral, Evangelicals would stick by him, even when the ‘brave’ leadership of the Republican party runs for the tall grass.

I get that it might be baffling to some, , seeing that it has become very obvious that Trump is (or has been) a base, vile, crude and immoral man, about as far from being Christian in the evangelical sense as any candidate that ever ran, to my knowledge.

What’s going on here?  Is this the sign of the total decline of American Christianity, and an omen that evangelicals in America are strongly deluded?

Mind you I am on no way trying to push Trump or to justify him in any way nor do I think Trump can save America or stave off the judgment that we deserve. All I want to do is give some perspective and clear up a few false assumptions. Also I assure you I don’t think I can speak for all Christians, not to mention all evangelicals.

America is a very political place, partly because we have a system of government that in theory says that everybody has a say, and partly because we have undergone a long social revolution which wrested influence from the former Judeo Christian worldview and is in the process of enthroning Atheism and its ‘morality’ and tenants upon the nation , once founded by Puritans.

Since in theory we all have a say in government, Christians also take politics seriously. We have in my lifetime had the “religious right”, the “moral Majority” the “Tea Party” ,  Operation rescue, the pro life movement, etc etc etc, all attempts to coutner and staunch the tide of secular humanism (atheism) as it rolled up one victory after another in American life.

There have been no referendums on most of these appalling advances, such as abortion or so called “gay marriage”. These have been for the most part imposed upon as by activist judges.

The reason a bombastic character like Trump has arisen,(Humanly speaking) is because the Republican Party has so betrayed its base, in breath taking terms, time and again, particularly since the rise of Obama, promising to restrain his absolute trashing of what is left of the constitution,  promising to cut spending and to staunch the tidal wave of third world immigrants which bring crime, unemployment and low wages all across America.

In the last two off elections(non Presidential) the Republican party gained 1000 seats in State and Federal government, by running n a platform of stopping Obama. Immediately in nearly every case Republican officeholders turned right around within days of the election and handed Obama budgets with no restraints on the programs they promised to defund!

There was a star lineup of fine professional politicians who ran in the Presidential Republican primary, the who’s who of “conservatives” 16 strong, and Trump, one of the least liked characters in America, for various reasons which have become evident.

Trump is not a politician, nor a theologian, he is not pretending to be an evangelical(As Gore and the Clintons and Jimmy Carter did), in fact he is openly and unashamedly a pretty worldy guy. He uses profanity, has a checkered past and is not pretending either to be a “poor man” who made it big.( I am praying for him regardless of the election result).

How did Trump triumph over 16 “A-team” conservative Republicans? He spoke some sense and without the usual political couching of terms. He promised to stop the flow of Mexican (illegal) immigration. He promised to stop the flow of Muslims(Obama brought in 1 million in 8 years!). Sorry but it is obvious to all but the politicians, wherever Muslims go in the thousands, so also does violence, terror and mayhem. He promised to defend Freedom of religion.

The others may have been conservative but they didn’t get the level of anger and feeling of abject betrayal Republicans, conservative, and evangelicals have felt over the last twenty years. Cruz, Rubio and the rest all postured as  every other conservative politician has done, mouthing platitudes about Reagan, the good old days, the need for spending restraint, but at the same time accepting the status quo of unlimited immigration, acceptance without question of Islamic immigrants, and the globalist presuppositions which undergird trade, immigration and defense.

They thought of this election as just another “Conservative vs Liberal battle” which they would conduct using Roberts rules of order, while the left brings a switchblade to the debate. The Republicans are the “good guys” , never stooping to answering to calumnies of the Right, the constant use of the term racist to describe their constituencies, and the paralysis while the left takes our nation down the gutter.

But Trump fights all of that, rejecting political correctness( which is a culturally toxic force here), and not apologizing for wanting to pursue American interests.

Consider the contrast;

Hillary: Christians must change their Religion

Who could blame Christians for not wanting more of Obama’s destructive policies? IT IS EASY FOR THOSE OUTSIDE TO JUDGE AND CRITICIZE CHRISTIANS IN AMERICA, accusing them of idolatry and compromise for supporting Trump, but would you leave us to Hillary? A career criminal, a psychotic warmonger(Libya) who boasted of her role in Gaddafi’s death? No Christian I know thinks Trump is christian, but even Caesar received the prayers of the Jews in the days before Christ. I know of no Christian who actually thinks Trump can save America. It is a simple choice of a career criminal or a very crude man with a checkered past who seems to be leveling with us and understands some of the frustrations here.

I don’t know what the outcome is going to be, nor do I know if Trump will end up being a beast himself, once in power, ( It could happen, who knows?). I do think that what Trump has been used to expose here very plainly is the fact that there really is a “ruling elite” at the top of American society, composed of Democrats and Republicans, who do   not mind at all the downward direction this country has taken, as long as their power remains intact. Evidently there is little or no difference between Bushes and Clintons. Who knew?

Trump doesn’t seem to be  one of them, and it seems they fear him. He may be something worse, or something better, or he may be a man in transition, but I hope you understand why many rally around him in spite of his obvious flaws.

We have gone beyond the tired old “conservative/liberal” schism in this nation, we are now at the “Nationalist/ Globalist” level, and who can blame Christians for wanting to retain some semblance of the nation they once knew?

I know, that our Kingdom is not of this world, and politics will not save us, only Jesus can do so, please pray for America and the Christian remnant in that idolatrous, backslidden country.

Praise God Jesus is coming back so soon! Maranatha!

  1. This is Trump versus Clinton.

Clinton is the status quo Uniparty DC establishment elite selling America to the highest bidder.

    Trump is not.

    Any questions?

  2. Rob Nelson - New Zealand says:

Thanks Bill for your thoughts on this current election. As an outsider, a New Zealander, I watch what is developing world wide as a matter of course. To understand the times it is essential to be informed. I too believe Trump is the Lord’s choice. Why? A major thing in my mind is that Trump is his own man. He doesn’t dance to someone else’s tune. This is absolutely the opposite of Clinton and her camp. I see the Clinton’s as having an agenda that American’s if they knew about it would freak out. All that is restraining these people in the underground pressing the Clintons and their ilk’s buttons, is PRAYER. This is still the most potent weapon true believers have.
I’ll close by saying to you all who are living in these troubled times keep looking up. From whence cometh your help? From the Lord of Hosts. He is the only one to guide us throughout these increasingly dangerous times.
Blessings to you Bill, keep preaching the word might and main as you are doing. Many out here around the world value your insights.
    Rob

  3. Onesimus says:

Bill, I didn’t realise my disappointment could increase – until I followed the link you included labelled “Hillary: Christians Must Change their Religion”. Following that link took me to a youtube video emblazoned with the caption:

HILLARY: CHRISTIANS IN AMERICA MUST DENY THEIR FAITH IN CHRISTIANITY

The video played for a while displaying an angry looking photo of Clinton seeming to scream the caption

“”Kneel and deny your Christian faith”.

Most of the video featured a man priming the viewer to hear the kind of messages already mentioned above. The actual portion featuring Clinton in which she allegedly made these demands merely had her saying that religious beliefs would need to be changed – but very little context was shown to expand on the point she intended to make.

While it is quite possible/probable that I wouldn’t agree with her actual (unshown) intention, her statement about religious beliefs needing to be changed is 100% correct.
There are many beliefs held by Christians that have nothing at all to do with the Truth, but are beliefs that have been passed from generation to generation despite having no biblical foundation.

I see that in no way or form is there any honesty in the captions attributed to that link. In fact those captions are some of the grossest examples of “Christian” dishonesty I’ve seen.

And until now I haven’t mentioned that the site displaying this video heavily promotes Trump and is identified in several places as a “fake news site”.

What more can I say – but the fact that you are increasingly putting the integrity of your ministry at risk by taking this path.

    • Jeanne T. says:

I could not disagree with you more.

    • Jerod says:

      Onesimus,

My attempt at grace is to say I believe you are a saved individual, that you have the best intention for a faithful pastor of God’s flock.

      But the truth is
To start, Bill’s article was not about Hillary. Fake news site or not, the quote is correct. You are creating a strawman and ignoring the intent, which is to obviate the dilemma and help the reader understand the fork in the road at which we stand.

You said *”her statement about religious beliefs needing to be changed is 100% correct.”*

If you believe in freedom of thought just take that phrase she uttered at face value:

“religious beliefs will need to be changed”

Religions of any color are by broader definition cults. Chances are you belong to a cult yourself. Prolly more than one. Cults are gatherings of like minded/like intentioned people in worship and/or cause (a bad paraphrase). Though you may not agree with her methods, you state you agree with the principle that Christian mouths should be sewn shut by judicial decree or legislation – or just how do you think she will fulfill that campaign promise? How does the government change any religious belief? Is there an abstinence program for that? Doesn’t that principle you agree with fly in the face of Jesus’ command to love your neighbor as yourself? May I shut you up because you make comments having to do with Christ and, in my insular, caffeinated, irritated bowel view of scripture, you have no biblical grounds to make them? I can? I’m sure Hillary is working on it. Glad you agree 🙂

True, there are a lot of jerks who say a lot of moronic things, of which I am often the chief. Any cult has a lot of jerks and those dark blemishes stand out in greater intensity against a group of believers who profess as their standard and hope a God who is himself light, 1 John 5. Even more so when every believer knowingly falls short and runs back to their God’s arms for forgiveness, in some kind of sick self-enabling hypocrisy – or so it would seem to the likes of the antichrist (spirit of the age) world, of which Hillary is a proud follower. Our standard is a God who is light and truth, but his reflection among believers down here is closer to a mottled banana than God, than Christ Jesus. If you are judging Bill’s calling as a pastor on picking the right fork over the left, on his part an admittedly tenuous maneuver, than I would remind you that God hasn’t judged you for your mottled banana, nor has he judged the US for 60 million infanticides. Nor has he judged the Evil in this world, because he gives each of us and our loved ones time.

      I feel you, though.

I dislike Chump intensely. I border sometimes on hating him. But he struggles (hopefully he struggles) with many of the same sins I struggle with (if only money were one of my $truggle$). I wonder if that’s why I dislike him. Because I know how unfit he seems to me to be to lead, yet he’s what we are given. I know how unfit I am in myself to have any of the things or people in my life that I have, yet I, who struggle daily with sin like Chump’s, am what they are given as a leader. Perhaps you dislike him because he is like you in some respects. In fact I know he is. He is a sinner. An unrepentant sinner with a lack of love and fidelity, crude and shameless. He may fire himself before his term is up. But he is who we are. You can’t knock anybody before you recognise you belong, in many respects, to the same cult as Hillary, as Trump, as Bill, as your wife (assuming), as me. People who need grace and time. We get the leaders we deserve. This election is spot on.

5… God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; 7but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

    • Onesimus…

What do you think she might have meant? That too many believers were engaging in heresy? First of all, no one has the right to tell anyone to ‘change their religion’! That is not their choice, it is ours. Second, this is a free country, and we have the right of freedom of religion acknowledged (we have the right anyway, only it is honored here… or it once was.) Third, from what I heard she was referring to gay marriage. Fourth, true believers will never change their religion or deny our faith. Fifth, no one has to do anything as no one can force anyone without their consent. Sixth, the only thing we ‘must’ do is remain loyal to Jesus unto death. Seventh, hillary has to change her religion. (One day every knee will bow… etc.) HA.

But yes, you do deceive yourself and I tell you this out of love.

  4. Onesimus says:

merely had her saying that religious beliefs would need to be changed

I also want to point out that no specific religion was singled out in her statement, further highlighting the lies of the various captions.

  5. I’m Australian PST Bill and I get it. I get why Trump has support in the US, even though I think he’s an awful person. It’s the same reason why Brexit happened and why the rise of support for the far right here in Australia surprised everyone (the media and the elite). The common person is sick of being lied to by the media, the politicians, the elite. These give the common people no credit at all. They think we can’t see that Muslim immigration = terrorism. Duh any fool can see that, but everyone is too scared to actually say it, because they are bullied into silence with shouts of “racism”.

So then along comes some one who says what everyone is really thinking. It could be the biggest idiot of .all time but finally, finally someone says it. This someone is not daunted by the religion of PC and is obviously not part of the New World Order elite. But everyone (the media, and elite) are shocked. Just like Brexit – how could this happen they cry?

I really believe that men’s hearts are failing them for fear now because of Islamic terrorism and anyone now who has the balls to actually address this problem will get support.

I think more people get it than they’re willing to admit because the media has done a number on Trump supporters: you know unintelligent, gun-toting rednecks.

Anyway blessings from the land down under PST Bill!

  6. Lovey says:

Fallen man and unregenerate, unlearned or even immature new Christians ought to admit the old man doesn’t “die” fast…immediately or quickly….our warfare doesn’t involve armaments of the flesh of this world ….but the armor of God ..the renewed mind on the RIGHTLY divided Word of God and rightly applied to the walk we have as Christians

Unbelievers know little or nothing of this ongoing walk of faith and the obstacles and oppositions we who take this walk seriously and seek to be transformed by renewing our minds and invite and desire reproof and correction as long as we live during our lifespan

It’s interesting to observe those who claim to be atheists or deny a Creator still are offended by a morality they can offer no explanation as to why some moral position is right or wrong other than that conscience by which Romans chapter one records that it is by this conscience they are still accountable to have sought the Creator but denied Him…choosing to suppress and refuse to keep the knowledge of God in order to live by opinions, appetites and lusts that please the most people and draw the most worldly “benefits”

I don’t know about others but if anyone grew up going to government nanny schools, watched television even from its nativity..or played on a playground ….of anyone just grew up ….the talk…behavior and imaginations of fallen humans is defiled

Even the most reverent should recognize that Jesus pointed out the mind of man was a fount of necessity to be “trained up” in faith to submit to the will and word of God but ultimately was going to need the Saviour

It is appalling the segmented form of morality and postures of those who are picking up multiple stones to throw without considering what is ultimate responsibility of those who are to hold accountable not just those who commit thought and word “offenses” but fail to carry out the keeping of the moral laws of the land given the responsibility to deal with those who willfully seek to not only ignore Gods right to direct them but to avoid by stealth the justice system in place to carry out civil justice

Difficult to cast the first stone ….but those who have been entrusted to carry out the constitutional laws…have not been valiant for the truth

As my youngest daughter pointed out….we already have had years of what the democrats have had to offer….and what they have proven by their actions and agendas have to offer

    None righteous no not one…

But any possibility with Trump is worth the vote

As you said I think, we have no knowledge of what the Oval Office and dealing with the WA DC culture may bring to bear upon anyone who is willing to sit in the hot seat of President of the U.S. …..and with know in the prophesies we await our Lord and pray for those who in the meantime know not the Lord!
I was frankly disgusted with the Republican leadership that jumped ship so quickly

I think they are missing the various skills that we see in Trump in terms which few have the will to do

It would be great if I grew up to know men of the character that I have to trust others testimony exist…sadly I have known many people in ministry and throughout my own walk who have had more “Adam” than “Jesus ” in evidence

    This includes ladies sadly

I do pray our leaders will reach deep down for higher and higher values and strive to keep a higher standard which we all aspire to

But seriously the last perfect person for up and got out of here a little over 2000 years ago
I’m so grateful He is merciful…long suffering and willing to work with whomsoever wishes to learn and grow and be transformed

Thank you Bill for speaking out and speaking up

Come Lord but Save such as are still lost
Thank you for helping me walk circumspectly and ongoing growing in knowledge and wisdom as I seek to rightly divide your Word

    🍞🍷🍇👑

  7. Oe says:

There is little doubt in my mind what “changes ” Hillary was intending

The Anti Christ will arrive finding a one world government…one world economy and a one world RELIGION which we presently see forming through ecumenical efforts where in people are joining under the banner of a religion which claims to worship the “same God”

Anyone who examines the Word of God may notice a profound prophesy of this state

The God of the Bible has made a very clear truth evident…that He is THE. Creator….Man fell and all born from Adam are sinners and separated from Him
His Son is the single qualified individual born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, fulfilled the law , laid down His life as the last sacrificial Lamb of God…offered Himself to Israel who as a nation has yet to recognize their Messiah

Anyone..including any individual Jew may now receive Salvation by faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ as their Saviour through hearing and believing the Gospel

The true Savior is awaiting the nation of Israel to cry out for Him as they who recognize Jesus Christ as their Messiah….after the Church…the Body and Bride of Jesus Christ calls His Bride to rise up and meet Him in the air

Jesus won’t touch down until after the seventieth week ..the time of Jacobs Trouble mentioned in the Old Testament

The Anti Christ will show up and those who do not know the Word of God will Rejoice thinking he is their Messiah…Savioir..etc because they have not studied to show themselves approved u to God by rightly dividing th Word of Truth and only listened to false teachers who read bits and pieces and cut and pasted odd and various extra biblical materials and doctrines of men

Deception catches those who don’t realize how history confirms the truth of Gods Word but lean upon their own and others understanding ..buying the lies

May they have there hearts turned to the one and only name under heaven that saves and learn from the Word which is God breathed

Hillary needs to read up ….the only ones who wish to cause those who are Christ’s are those deceived ….it will not work out well in eternity for such ones

  8. Onelord says:

The world is gathering around to make “one religion ” of all religions

The devil seeks to get those who seek after God to compromise and remain loyal to the world..the flesh…and the devil

Those who don’t know the scriptures or don’t study to rightly divide it will cave in to pleasing men and going out with the effort to compromise the faith in Jesus Christ alone

Those of the left have generally faith in the religions of Humanism…evolution…lawlessness and realitivism

The religion of “do what thou wilt for love is the whole of the law”

Gods Word indicates that the “law is love” and Jesus Christ lived and died for the love of God that we might be saved from the consequences of Adams having disobeyed and by his blood thus being contaminated brought death upon all born through his seed…..the life of the flesh is the blood and fallen man’s blood is contaminated by sin

    All flesh dies

Our Savioir paid the debt in full and those who trust in His life…death..burial and resurrection are resurrected from death to life…ultimately to live eternity with Him

The ecumenical effort to form a religious of all faiths under the banner of they are all about the same God is a false , worldly effort .

The movement of the spirit of anti Christ is at work as the prince of the power of the air is at work desperate to steal…kill and destroy by way of false doctrines..counting upon the ignorance of what the Bible actually reveals

Saved by faith alone in Jesua Christ alone ….no other

  9. As a fellow christian and blogger I have tried to stay away from the deep end of the political pool….It is nearly impossible in the climate we have swirling around us. Pastor, your insight is always welcome and refreshing…or should I say challenging, in a godly way.

  10. Trump will lose the election. Hillary’s coming elevation to POTUS-President of the US will result in a course set out by a former philosopher of chaos, who laid out parameters of how to run power by using it destructively against everyone who is against you – & even those who might look loyal, but might be a threat down the line.
Successful dictators such as Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe have implemented the Machiavellian strategy.
Those loyalists who eventually succumb to the power in the process & are crushed in the process, fall under the maxim “The Revolution eats her children”.
No life is sacred in such a system.
All are expendable for the ‘higher good’.
The latter is defined as the agenda of the highest power –
    whatever that agenda might be,
even if it might be fickle.
What happens then is that no one is safe:
The higher power’s conscience is itself & it alone.
A conscience deadened by death – support for abortion – becomes the mainstay of that power.
That means eventually no limits, as the starting price was the life of the innocent, by abortion.
So it follows that the life of the guilty is worth less (& per se worthless).
America is about to elect a virtual criminal of severely corrupt moral & spiritual standing to the highest office in the land.
May God have mercy on that great land.

  11. Jeanne T. says:

This is one of the most balanced pieces I’ve read on Trump vs. Hillary Clinton.

This is not a “defense” of Donald Trump. Am I happy about the choice this election season? No, not at all. However, between Trump and Clinton, consider for a moment that the women Bill Clinton molested and raped have come out in support of Trump. And why wouldn’t they? Hillary Clinton attacked them, and she was complicit in her husband’s sexual crimes because she enabled his crimes. She laughed when recounting how she defended a pedophile who raped a 12-year-old girl, now a grown woman who has never recovered. And by the way, this woman, along with three others abused by Bill Clinton, were in the front row of the second debate the other evening. I believe Hillary Clinton is a sexual deviant, based on her enabling of her husband and her malicious maligning of the women he raped. And does anyone think Bill Clinton has changed his ways?

Actually, what we have is a choice between ” a very crude man with a checkered past who seems to be leveling with us and understands some of the frustrations here” and a Jezebel. Yes, they are both pagans, but Hillary is like Jezebel, who spurred her husband on to murder a man in order to confiscate his property. Hillary Clinton is a very, very evil woman. There are dark principalities and powers at work in her life. I absolutely detest her. The same is true of Barack Obama and his handlers (yes, handlers).

One thing I do believe: For all of his crudeness, Donald Trump loves the United States of America, and Hillary Clinton does not. I believe this point is obvious.

And although I am not happy about either of the candidates, I am even more unhappy about the Republicans who have betrayed their base.

    • HWS says:

In my view, the USA is facing judgment for turning away from God, and judgment will come if we do not repent of our sins (abortion & homosexuality – just to name two Big Ones from which this nation remains defiantly unrepentant). I believe if Clinton wins, judgment will come down onto us quickly; if Trump wins, judgment might be delayed for a bit. Either way, it won’t matter who wins the Presidency if this Nation and its People do not turn back to God. Sadly, I see no sign of this happening.

“I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever.” — Thomas Jefferson

That’s the bad news. The GOOD news is that I believe, at 60 yrs old, that I will live to see the Rapture. He is coming soon!

      • Jeanne T. says:

        I agree with you, HWS.

However, we as Christians have the liberty to vote as we see fit. But sadly, I have rarely heard Christians say they are voting the way the are because they first prayed about it. It is usually a diatribe against one candidate or the other and never anything to indicate they are actually praying about this decision first, and that’s how they came to their conclusion. This is a spiritual issue as well as an issue of our rights as Americans.

    • Lovey says:

Funny today I was just making that comparison with Jezebel spirit
In that sense Hillary has already been “president” perhaps with even more power of influence than she has welded through various stations in government since

I have aofr long friend who is an aquatance of Hillary I saw last year this time…when I probed her opinion of the state of things she claimed that Hillary has always been good to her and that she has been “thrown under the bus”

My childhood friend however had rejected my efforts to share the gospel with her for years ..she has a lot of worldly successes and herself is involved with the world and doing good but with “no need of religion”

Same slap in the face of all who were raised to see the world as their own playing field formed by their own ideas and good works and good intentions

The ideologies that stand within those who don’t “need ” a god to impact the word toward a “kinder gentler place” are patronizing among the friends they know as they gently deny THEIR OWN need for a Savioir but concede that maybe you do …it’s the old “religion is the crutch of the weak and weak minded”
That the elite self congratulating among those whose accomplishments confirm their value by the world’s affection that works like a drug in their veins

Deceived by the world the flesh and the devil they are indeed manifesting the self righteous focus upon doing what pleases like minded worldlings

I looked to see who has the most to “gain ” personally in becoming president of the United States in these most troubling times when “good” is rejected and redefined as “evil” and vice versa

Do we want someone who has by words and position and actions consistently worked toward the diminishing. And demolishing of the laws set upon the foundation of respect for life..Liberty …and property with boundaries intended to protect jurisdictions long defined and informed by God from the beginning?

Or someone who really has no need of the grief that comes quite powerfully world wide against freedom of individuals and Justice as defined by Gods character and standards

Like it or not it seems to me Trump has had power….wealth….access and influence without the added headaches that comes with being President

      Why run?

He also has indicated to some degree the willingness to learn through experiences and seems to see the value of utilizing counsel of many who may offer some qualified information …people who have some background in the sustaining of the values found in our constitution

No doubt it takes a strong will to do righteousness and knowledge of what it entails as the scriptures inform

What his ultimate capacity for walking in all that remains to be seen but I just wonder which one running has the most to gain impersonal comfort in this day and age

Come what may…prayer is most needed ….study of the scriptures and humble willingness to acknowledge that it is God whose ultimate plan will be done

I often wonder why anyone would step into the cesspool of politics who already pretty much has their life where many might desire and aspire to achieve

There seems to be a choice between defense of our nation and our constitution and a new agenda bent upon a utopian fantasy only empowered by rebellion and demagoguery which is driven by ambition to reign and control and willing to destroy anyone who stands in the way of “progress”

And the word declares rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft does it not?

      Life …Liberty…and property

Who will likely work to defend and preserve our freedoms?
Whose advisory cluster has that in mind?

Who has proven by past performance a respect for such things?

  12. Jeanne T. says:

“Fact-Check: Yes, Hillary Clinton Did Laugh After Successfully Defending a Child Rapist”

    http://www.breitbart.com/live/second-presidential-debate-fact-check-livewire/fact-check-yes-hillary-clinton-laugh-successfully-defending-child-rapist/

FTA: “Clinton also laughed in the video about saving the child rapist from a “miscarriage of justice.” He served one year in county jail, with two months shaved off his sentence for the time he already served. Shelton’s injuries were so traumatic, she could never have children…….”

  13. Onesimus says:

    Sadly Bill, .
I’ve said all I can say about the continued, hateful anti Obama, and now anti Clinton rhetoric and how it has brought forth a hate-filled candidate as an alternative to match the all too common “christian” attitude.

The fact that many “evangelicals” are supporting Trump is almost as shameful as the hatred and outright lies that “christians” have directed at the current President and now the democrat candidate seeking to be his successor..

I recommend the following on my blog where I address the “Hillary: Christians must change their Religion” video that Bill has endorsed in his article.

    https://onesimusfiles.wordpress.com/2016/10/12/a-lesson-in-deception-and-manipulation/

Do not be deceived or manipulated, test all things.
IN other words, check things out for yourself to see whether what you’re being told IS actually the truth. The video in the link provided by Bill is an example of manipulation and deception at its worst. Did you actually watch it Bill before you posted the link?

And this WILL be my last word on this site and my last visit.

  17. Lovey says:

I went to the site referred to here to “examine” what perspective and understanding Onisimus holds in his blog …..seems there are some areas he might also consider as he examines all things by the Word

The speech that Hillary gave did not indeed make a distinct reference to Christianity yet anyone who has been observing the variety of actions and motions in the present administration may find it difficult to avoid noticing the way Christianity and Biblical truth has been regarded in every aspect of our culture in the last sixty years as government education has been loaded with curriculums designed to mold the minds of generations now toward leftist preferences and humanist worldview in direct opposition of the God of the Bible

Many churches and seminars offer alternative spiritual paths rather than sound Biblical studies in church history and the way scripture opens to those who study to show themselves approved unto God rather than trianing with an eye to church growth and a career in religion rather than a calling to follow Jesus Christ

Alternative “Christianity ” reigns along with political correct rhetoric and the march toward pleasing the world continues on toward the conclusion of all things

Social justice and social gospel has replaced in the minds of many what it is to follow the Lord in spirit and in truth and “love” is defined by feeling good and doing what makes others feel good ….all the way to hell without realizing their need for a Savioir because what Jesus died for and paid for is a condition no person born into this world escapes ….born dead in trespasses and sin and sin kills when it completes its working

So many truths we might observe to note that the present correct way to govern our nation has become by feelings , appetites and opinions floated on media and social media in particular

The scriptures continue to confirm the moral laws set by our Lord who has every right to direct our path both individually and nationally

Priorities….identities and the jurisdictions defined by Gods Word are not up for political modification ….and boundaries set by the CREATOR still qualify as THE TRUTH whether the leaders of this world like it or not

    Jesus WINS!

The posture of some politicos as “Christian ” fails when siting scripture out of context and misapplied to the issues of the day when their own actions and life contradict the moral laws and truths of Gods inspired ..aka “”breathed ” Word …for DOCTRINE….reproof…and correction which is to provide instruction in RIGHTEOUSNESS
That a man of God be complete fully finished into all good works

So the evidence of the lefts intentions have been seen time and again as the dealings with the freedom of religious faith in biblical Christianity in particular has been attacked and penalized time after time …marginalized in schools and public places…
Mocked in media….set aside and even legislated against the very directives found in the God breathed Word

This is no surprise as we study the WHOLE WORD and read of the way the faith has been on target by those “of the world ” including those who are identified by their love for the World and their neglect or twisting of the words…verses …out of context and out of order to deceive the unlearned in the scriptures

Hillary should take more time perhaps as many who THINK Christianity is nothing more than just another religion of fleshly preference

Yes, and Clinton’s exact comment was “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will and deep seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.” Changed how? Why isn’t anyone asking her? The context of her remarks was women’s “reproductive rights”, i.e., abortion, and Hillary Clinton is very much pro-abortion.

      • Right, I mean, that says it all. “Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will and deep seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.” How much clearer can it be that she is coming for the faithful?! As I said in my reply to Onesimus, it is the job of no one to ‘change’ anyone’s religious beliefs, that is our choice alone, a personal decision! And that in a democracy that claims to uphold freedom of religion and beliefs? It’s like… ‘dude, get a clue!’
We will not change our religion for anyone or anything! That is our right, acknowledged or not.
That mockery he posed, that is what they do intend to do, to sculpt the laws to persecute true Christians who refuse to deny the Lord and the biblical convictions, that is exactly what they are constructing there. It is already happening and will only get worse. We must be prepared to bear the brunt of it and face the lions as He is with us.

  18. Lovey says:

I agree…as I said….if the long term evidence of her actions and influences upon our culture through her various activities in government indicate her long held and deeply held convictions it seems to indicate she would hope others to change rather than her own…which as you have pointed out lines up with eugenics founder of Planned Parenthood Margaret Sangers position ……so the beliefs of others …anti abortion or marriage according to Gods design do not reflect her deeply held beliefs!

Bakers and florists….forced to pay high penalties for exercising their personal convictions …..just to name a famous few

I don’t believe many are confused about her revelations in that speech either

  19. Jeanne T. says:

    Bill,

Thank you for your gracious and Christ-like responses to everyone who posts here.

  20. Gordon Wood says:

I read this with a heavy heart.

America is being given over to greed and debauchery. Neither candidate will curb them. Forced to choose, I will choose Trump, but sadly and regretfully for he is not a candidate who meets the requirements for Godly leadership. None of them do. Clinton is worse, and the others (who don’t have a real chance) are no better.

Stand, believers in Christ. Do all, and, having done all, stand. Finish the race at all costs. Jesus returns soon. You may have to stand to the point of dying for your faith. Do so.

Look up, as your redemption draweth nigh.

    God bless you all,

Thank you, Gordon. God is in control. As someone said the other day, “Things aren’t falling apart. They are falling together.” Our hope is not in man (or woman), but in Yeshua.

  21. Jerod says:

I wonder if you could publish this in the NY Times…

  22. Roger says:

I live in NZ, where voting in an election is not compulsory, whereas in Australia voting is compulsory.

I note in some comments above there is an implication that individuals are ‘forced to choose’ – so I ask is voting compulsory in the USA..?

I also note the very first commenter to your article Bill, states that this is ‘Trump v. Clinton’.

Yes – in the physical sense, in worldly matters, this is true. However, I assume most reading and commenting here are Christians, hopefully spiritually reborn from above – so – given those who are spiritually reborn are now citizens in the Kingdom of God, there is a spiritual ‘vote’ here too – isn’t there..?

If voting isn’t compulsory in the USA – no one is ‘forced to choose’ between Clinton and Trump…. and if individuals are spiritually reborn members of the Body of Lord Jesus, then given that many commenting here see both are ‘unacceptable’ in His eyes – a physical vote for either is perhaps a spiritual vote against Lord Jesus.

Way back at the beginning of this current campaign – there were three: Cruz, Clinton and Trump. All three were prayed and prophesied over, (and anointed) by ‘christians’ who supported their candidate – in each case prophecies were given saying that their candidate would be the next president, and that he/she was chosen and anointed by God.

In the final outcome, two of those groups will be seen as false prophets. I look forward to their repentance – which should be as public as their initial declaration.

    • Jeanne T. says:

      Roger,

If you are a Christian you should pray for America, if you are concerned about America’s condition.

Voting is not compulsory in the United States. If only two individuals are on a ballot, then yes, in that sense, there are only two choices if you choose to vote, unless you write in a candidate you prefer, or there is a third candidate on the ballot whom you support. You can also choose to not vote.

“if individuals are spiritually reborn members of the Body of Lord Jesus, then given that many commenting here see both are ‘unacceptable’ in His eyes – a physical vote for either is perhaps a spiritual vote against Lord Jesus.”
As far as publicly calling on others to repent, we need to acknowledge our own sin first. Daniel prayed, “We have sinned”. He included himself in his prayer of repentance, and that should be our model.

If “individuals are spiritually reborn”, then the first thing they should do is to pray about their decision and ask the Lord what they should do. Sadly, I have yet to come across a Christian, save for one or two bloggers, that says they have actually prayed about what to do. They say they can’t vote for this or that candidate, but they don’t say this is what God told them to do. They may even say they are praying for our country (which we must do, because we are commanded to pray for our leaders), but they don’t say they are praying about how to vote. Then we must give our brothers and sisters the freedom to exercise their Christian liberty in this area.

Both Trump and Clinton are morally deficient, ungodly candidates. It is hypocritical to call out one without calling out the other. No one here is excusing Donald Trump’s behavior. But we can’t make excuses for Hillary Clinton, who has a much longer record of involvement in politics, and we know what her positions are on issues like abortion (she is very strongly pro-abortion), and homosexual “marriage” (she supports it). Donald Trump has supported Planned Parenthood in the past. Yet there are many who call themselves Christians who support her, even supporting her position on abortion and other moral issues.

Some are advocating voting the Party platform. Regardless of the candidates’ characters, the platforms of the two parties are very, very different with very different histories. I’m sure it is the same in New Zealand. One party is pro-life and the other is not. One platform supports Biblical marriage, the other supports same sex “marriage” and shared public bathrooms. These are some of the issues that we consider when making a decision.

      • Roger says:

        Jeanne,
Thank you for clarifying the voluntary voting procedure for US elections – in answer to that question 🙂

The remainder of my comment was not intended to be judgemental – rather to pose other considerations for each individual to ponder over (yes, prayerfully) and to share another viewpoint from one who is outside the forest looking in.

You say: “…These are some of the issues that we consider when making a decision.”

I ask – what decision..? between Clinton and Trump (in this situation)..? or between worldly politics and our Lord and King, Messiah Jesus and His kingdom..?

  23. Jeanne T. says:

“…These are some of the issues that we consider when making a decision.”

Roger, thanks for your response and for “looking in”. My comments were in the context of this discussion, which is about voting in our upcoming election. But they apply to voting in any election season, and any set of candidates from the local level to the national level. We get the leaders we elect; we get the leaders were are. These decisions affect our lives for good or bad.

  24. Marleen says:

There will be at least three choices on the ballot in all states, I’m pretty sure. I think the Libertarians accomplished that. Additionally, some states will have more (who can also be written in, in other places). Evan McMullin (Independent Party) is one example. Jill Stein (Green) is another. In Utah, there are three candidates all polling in the twenties of percent (including D&R)..

Roger, I didn’t know there were three candidates prophesied over that they would be president. I agree with you that those who prophesied so or followed shouldn’t get away with it. That’s part of how we’ve gotten to this point already, as well as times when Christian leaders (even if they didn’t claim prophecy outright) said they knew people should vote for the Republicans we’ve gotten all this time.

  25. Roger says:

    Hi Marleen,
Back then, I did have 3 links to the most relevant of these ‘anointings’ – can’t find them now.

However, I have today performed 3 separate Google searches under: ‘Ted Cruz anointed’, ‘Pastors anoint Hillary Clinton’, and ‘Donald Trump is anointed by God’ and came up with a number of linked articles and videos, from approx Feb. 2016.

I continue to receive newsletters explaining why Trump is anointed of God to be potus, and, insisting that he will make the USA great again.

This is my real concern – many are looking at a future ‘greatness’ of the USA, when the Will of our Heavenly Father may be the opposite, to bring individuals to repentance.

    Time will tell..!

  26. One thing, we are not forced to vote, even if we were at gunpoint. But we aren’t. We are free not to vote without any backlash. (Just the same as no one can force anyone to convert, even at gunpoint. No one can force you to do anything without your consent. That is how we get martyrs for the Lord, the only right choice, which we all do have!)

    Now back to politics…

I will not vote. Why? Because I cannot vote for a man who bragged about sexually assaulting women. His sin was not just in words, but in deeds, and boasting of those deeds as he himself admitted it and there is no denying that. I also cannot vote for a woman who supports abortion and other sins we know all about by now. Thus, I am not voting! That is the only way I can remain with a clean conscience.

Note that I am not telling anyone that they should not vote, nor am I telling them who I think they should vote for, or not vote for. That is their right, and this is mine. End of argument.

I have also seen the false argument about not voting being a contribution to another candidate, but that is false. Here is the proof. A dead man does not vote. Thus, he does not vote for either one or the other. If a man says that his non-vote for one is a pro-vote for the other, then it would be saying that a dead man has cast a vote, which we know is not possible. It is not mathematical either. They count red votes and blue votes, and not non-votes as either one or the other! The same argument could be made that if you don’t vote for hillary, you are voting for trump, and if you don’t vote for trump, you are voting for hillary, which does not make any sense because it is illogical.
    Case closed.

Do what you wish, and I will too, I refuse to vote.

    God bless.

  27. Lovey says:

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Our righteousness is not of works lest any man boast

To refrain from acting when the opportunity arises to effect protection of our constitution and nation is available is to turn it over to those who would choose either anarchy or tyranny

    Dead men don’t do anything

They are past having any influence upon their state

Those who follow Christ are called upon to know HIM ..to study and rightly divide His Word

Of all nations we live in one that chose this form of three fold governance for the use of many men who might have submitted to God to then take part actively protecting this freedom from anarchists and tyranny

Dead men are not held accountable once dead
But the living are to submit to God

To work if they want to eat
To provide for their family so as not to be an infidel
To seek understanding of Gods Word by way of His Spirit that we may serve Him
For we are bought with a price and we are not our own but we are thus not to be servants of men but of God who saved us

All men are not our “brothers” but are sons of Adam and in need of the Saviour

For Jesus said who are my mother and who is my mother but those who do the will of God

The will of God in this age of Grace for the Church is to continue in His Word and we will thus be HIS deciples indeed.

I wonder what our righteousness as followers of Christ is if we do nothing in the face of having a choice and to make it prayerfully

For the Lord will come….though His mercy endures forever He will not always contend with man for the Lord has made His move and now awaits whomsoever to receive His finished Work

For faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God but how shall they hear if one is not sent to proclaim the Gospel of Christ ?

Many governments of the world have come a and gone having tried to shut the mouths of those who speak in His name

Today many false teachers speak false things about Jesus and there is no way to know what is true without the knowledge of His Word consumed daily and personally rightly dividing and applying as the Spirit teaches the whole counsel of God

I for one will vote since we still may as God has granted us the grace to do so

As long as this freedom remains it is our individual priveledge to speak in this way for the sake of protecting our freedom to do so

No perfect person of sterling character stands before us on either side

One we have known by experience the direction her team wants to use her to go in

One flawed person whose life long testimony has been filled with the likes of the tarnish of his generation but not without the multitude of moral failures encouraged and built into generations spoiled by the lack of knowledge of Gods word and fed encouragement to take the fleshly road of self to the outer limits and act for the sake of fitting into the flashy world of power..glamour….and license. How sorrowfully few seemed to have grown with more moral spine in the last several decades

To not vote in protest of moral failure is perhaps seen as a noble act of rectitude but the resulting generational destruction of ungodly laws made against the laws of Gods moral calling will be far reaching and without reverse of we do not take this opportunity now when the tide of filth may still be stemmed a while longer

What is the value of dying “for Cbrist” when their are still people who need to hear what freedoms liberties have made available even now as we see those freedoms being squeezed

Now is not the time to die “for” Christ but to live to stand fast for the Liberty which He bought so dear a price as His own blood

Die to self and self righteous platitudes and live upon the Truth of His victory

Stand fast in the liberty wherein Christ has made us free and live to defend life, liberty and property as a nation sovereign for those who come after

Yes “Lord willing ” what other would He command is who love Him do!

Vote while you yet may….or stand back and behold the torrential will of fallen fleshly man surrender to the enemy of many souls yet unsaved

We should obey God rather than men and what can a dead man do for anyone ..including Christ

But of course, we don’t take what he says seriosly because we know he is a pathological liar. Unless its his promise to appoint the best justices, he must be telling the truth about that.

Really good points, John Dan. He says “nobody respects women more” than he does. I guess that’s why he says certain women aren’t pretty enough for him to molest. And that’s why his own daughter (one of his daughters) is “a piece of ass” as worded by Howard Stern and consented to by Trump, where Trump also laughed when Stern said Trump is a predator. Guess it’s why he felt entitled to walk on into beauty pageant dressing rooms to ogle naked girls.

Guess it’s why he told people (like a month ago) to go look for a “sex tape” made by a contestant he called miss piggy and miss housekeeping — when she didn’t make a sex tape. Turns out he did participate in making sex tapes, though. He was part of an intro for one that involved twins. Guess it’s why he said he’d probably date his daughter (one of his daughters) if she weren’t his daughter. Guess it’s why he commented on his infant’s breasts.

And he has suggested more than once that he, unlike other rich people, is so often audited — supposedly because he’s such a strong Christian. Is this guy actually the picture of persecution Christians want to go with? There is not going to be any moral ground left to stand on.

Trump also is a politician. He’s been signaling the most base, long-running forms of politics in this country all along. He wants to see how much of that electorate (as well as how many people who fail to see what he’s doing) he can pull together.

  32. Lovey says:

    Auto correct strikes again!

  33. Marleen says:

I’ll give you another example of deep seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases that have since been changed to some degree. Somewhere else in Africa, men had been told that having sex with a virgin would protect them from HIV [and there are fewer and fewer and younger and younger virgins when they are sought out for this purpose]. They were also influenced by the Catholic barring from using condoms. Additionally, there had been a “study” (poorly designed and badly controlled and read) used to suggest being circumcised would significantly reduce the spread of AIDS. The “Pope” finally came out and said families could use condoms to protect from life-threatening infection (but not to prevent conception).

Now, there is a very serious disease from, about, Florida on south (originating farther south) — Zika. Women have been told there (in Central and South America) not to get pregnant. The infection causes serious birth defects with the brain, the eyes, the very size of the head, and more. So what does it matter to be asked, even pleaded with, not to get pregnant? If women have no say so over their bodies in a sexual encounter (including in marriage) or avoidance of it and no access to birth control, so what then? Is it enough for the government or church leaders or health experts to put words out there simply saying pregnancy should be avoided right now? Or should women be allowed agency? Or should men be told to use condoms too?

I posted the above two paragraphs at someone else’s blog (after sharing something else about Africa). I have since viewed a video of a “Feminine Genius” Catholic woman talking about her favor for traditional values (to a great extent, although clearly depending on what traditional values are). Quote: It struck me over the head a thousand times during the investigation [of sexual abuse] that if a woman had been running the office — particularly a mother — that had received the complaints, we would have put an end to this cancer in the Church at a much earlier time. Someone else has recognised the blatantly obvious about US “evangelicals” support of Trump. Just consider the kind of “witness” that support is to the non-believing world as indicated below, with the statement “I don’t know what their gospel looks like anymore.”

“white evangelicals seem to bypass faith values to support a thrice-married man who boasts about his sexual exploits, made a fortune from gambling, supported abortion rights and gay and lesbian rights not too long ago, struggles to quote a single verse from the Bible and clearly doesn’t believe in a judgmental God or the Golden Rule.”….

“If they want to be unabashedly pragmatic voters who don’t walk the walk, fine. But they’ve lost the moral high ground. I don’t know what their gospel looks like anymore.

Which is funny, because they have pilloried a leader who has conducted himself with great probity and grace, and who exudes family values without a touch of scandal. But the guy who’s been in the White House for the past seven years is also the wrong color, which may sadly hint at the real explanation for white evangelical support for Donald Trump.”

FTA: “Which is funny, because they have pilloried a leader who has conducted himself with great probity and grace, and who exudes family values without a touch of scandal. Yeah, well, except for the fact that Obama is the most pro-abortion President in the history of the United States, having voted against a bill that would have protected babies who survived abortion. And Obama was once supported marriage only between a man and a woman before he supported homosexual marriage. But he didn’t reveal that “change of heart” until after he was reelected. And this is the same Obama who went to Egypt and insisted that the Muslim Brotherhood, banned in Egypt, had a front row seat to his speech in Cairo, a direct slap in the face to President Mubarak. This is the same Obama whose Administration has embraced the Muslim Brotherhood as advisors. The MB was behind the successful effort to revise FBI training manuals to remove “jihad” and “Islamic terrorism” from those training manuals.

The same whites (“evangelical” or otherwise) who opposed Obama also supported Herman Cain and Col. Allen West, among many other black political candidates who ran for office around the country. Cain and West are adamantly opposed to Obama (who is actually half black and half white). Do they, too, believe he is the “wrong color”? Are the growing number of other minorities who oppose Obama because they, too, are racist? Are they “sexist” because they oppose Hillary Clinton?

Jeanne T. commented on My One and Only Trump column…(I hope).

I thought “Onesimus” had unsubscribed to this blog. He has now posted 8 (eight) pieces at his own blog since 10 October (with very few comments except from one or two individuals; they know who they are), all in response to this article by Pastor Randles, and is still pushing the lie that evangelical Christians who did not vote for Obama and who still oppose him could not possibly have had any other reason except that they are racist

Yes I have unsubscribed from this blog – so I don’t get emails whenever a new article is posted.

However I am still getting notifications when new comments are added to a couple of threads where I’ve contributed.
And a few times, when someone replies to something I’ve said I tried to answer them. However most of those replies seem to have been deleted or left “awaiting moderation”.

Yes, there are few comments on my blog – because I’m not an internationally renowned teacher with a devoted and loyal following.

And no I am not “still pushing the lie that evangelical Christians who did not vote for Obama and who still oppose him could not possibly have had any other reason except that they are racist”. If you note that reference in my comment was a quote from another source.

I can’t say I recall ever publically making that particular claim on my blog or elsewhere, even though I DO think racism has played a big part in some people’s attitudes to Obama, especially the deep hostility/hatred directed towards him. (What do you think your “half black and half white” comment is? Is Obama any less “African American” because he has a black African father and a white American mother? )

As for the abortion issue – the “evangelical” single issue focus on abortion is a gift to any cunning Presidential candidate who can use that focus to garner the “evangelical” vote, by making promises they have no intention or ability to fulfill. Such as the man described in the article quoted in my previous comment:

“ a thrice-married man who boasts about his sexual exploits, made a fortune from gambling, supported abortion rights and gay and lesbian rights not too long ago, struggles to quote a single verse from the Bible and clearly doesn’t believe in a judgmental God or the Golden Rule.”….

    • Jeanne T. says:

You just validated my comments, Onesimus.

There are many issues besides abortion (which is a serious enough issue for God’s judgment in and of itself, because it is an abomination, as is homosexuality, and Obama and Clinton support both) which are of concern to Americans, including Christians. In my opinion the two most important issues are fidelity to the Constitution and support of Israel and the Jews. The Constitution is only as strong as its defenders, and God will judge every nation, including the United States, that turns its back on Israel,

You said, “As for the abortion issue – the “evangelical” single issue focus on abortion is a gift to any cunning Presidential candidate who can use that focus to garner the “evangelical” vote, by making promises they have no intention or ability to fulfill.

And the alternative is Hillary Clinton, who makes no attempt to hide her position on this issue. She is endorsed by Planned Parenthood. But abortion is not a “single issue focus” for most evangelicals, and certainly not for Republicans, contrary to what you believe.

I don’t know where you are getting your news and information or what you are reading, but with all due respect, I don’t think you have a very good grasp of the American electorate, judging by your commentary. You have repeated several times that you suspect “white evangelicals” do not support Obama because he is “the wrong color”. If you are simply quoting from other sources, you make no effort whatsoever to refute that speculation. Repeating it without refuting it is an endorsement. Yet I gave you examples of black candidates for political office who were not only highly qualified, but supported overwhelmingly by white ‘evangelicals”. Furthermore, nothing of “hatred” or “deep hostility” in stating the fact that Obama is half white and half black, because it is true, any more than pointing out that Bobby Jindal and Nikki Haley are of Indian descent, or stating the fact that my husband is an American Indian. In fact, I posted some background on Obama’s family at your blog. And whether or not there are many people in this country who really do not like Obama simply because the color of his skin, that does not negate the fact that his policies, and the policies of Hillary Clinton as well, are repulsive to many.

Likewise, objecting to Hillary Clinton’s position on issues, and her actions vis-a-vis the email scandal, does not make one “sexist.” Yet you make no mention of the serious issues (read: high treason) now surrounding Hillary Clinton, which have far greater implications for our country than anything Donald Trump has said or done. Actually, it is now a Constitutional crisis, since she is a candidate for the highest office in the land, and the reopening of the investigation into this matter comes less than two weeks from the election. There is an internal revolt in the FBI over the handling of this, which is probably why the Director has now reopened this matter. Unfortunately, many people have already voted.

So perhaps before you insist that Pastor Randles repent over a video posted, to which you objected, you should pray for America, as Pastor Randles has asked you to do (more than once).

Jeanne T said: “You have repeated several times that you suspect “white evangelicals” do not support Obama because he is “the wrong color”

    I have repeated several times?
    Where?

As I stated above: “I can’t say I recall ever publically making that particular claim on my blog or elsewhere…” but maybe my memory is failing, so please point out where I’ve done that.

So perhaps before you insist that Pastor Randles repent over a video posted, to which you objected, you should pray for America, as Pastor Randles has asked you to do (more than once).

Repentance needs to start with God’s people, and if a respected American bible teacher refuses to repent for promoting a deceptive and lying video…

As for praying for America – maybe its time to take one’s affections away from nations and turn them upon people who need to hear the Truth. While “Christians” continue to devote themselves to patriotic affections for secular states, they’ll never be a witness of the gospel to those who need to hear the gospel.

It’s time to turn away from political candidates and the hope that anything they can do will “make America Great again” – or make America “stronger together”. There is only ONE hope for the PEOPLE of America and that is to abandon allegiance to their nation, its constitution, its flag, and any potential president and to turn their affections to, and put their trust in, the King of Kings alone.

And the alternative is Hillary Clinton…

As I said in this very thread, all states will have more than two choices named on the ballot. And there are other credible candidates who can be written in.

On the topic of homosexuality, an example given of why one wouldn’t support Hillary, Trump is using homosexuality as a reason to be against Muslims (because Islam is against homosexuality). Trump isn’t reliable on Israel and “the Jews” either.

By the way, Hillary is using the word Jihad… extremist jihad terrorism.

No, I don’t intend to vote for Hillary. But I’m not voting for Trump. Like I said, there are other options. I won’t be voting for a Russian/Putin apologist who plays games about NATO and nuclear bombs and Hamas. (Not to mention, is scummy and scammy.)

It’s probably not a majority that didn’t vote for Obama because he was African-American, but the way he was treated sure brought out the crazies this time. I do think it’s a majority of politicians against him who knew they could get away with it because of his skin.

  40. Marleen says:

Although Jeanne didn’t close her quotation marks, I should have put the closing in [“] so it wouldn’t look like Onesimus said “the” alternative is Hillary Clinton.

Said in a prime moment of televised attention
    at the Republican National Convention::

“…who gets to use which bathroom. This is a distraction from our real problems. Who cares?

Of course, every American has a unique identity. I am proud to be gay. I am proud to be a Republican. But most of all I am proud to be an American. I don’t pretend to agree with every plank in our party’s platform; but fake culture wars only distract us from our economic decline, and nobody in this race is being honest about it except Donald Trump.

    …..”

This speaker was confirming that the culture wars are fake [yet in Trump world, fans go around waging those wars still anyway on his behalf — while he has attended functions with Christian leaders who talk about the deaths of homosexuals in terms of the shame being that more don’t die]. But Trump won’t fix the economy (not to mention, obviously is not honest). His plans will add more debt (starting with his tax plan, but continuing with his proposal to appropriate for a wall paid for by us and — welcome to fantasy land — reimbursed by Mexico).

    • Jeanne T. says:

      “fake culture wars”

Correct. We aren’t engaged in a “culture war”. We are engaged in spiritual warfare. It has always been about that.

….. conservative evangelical backers, including James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Robert Jeffress, and Ralph Reed, still rushed to the defense of his candidacy. “As I have made clear,” the Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins told The Washington Post, “my support for Donald Trump in the general election was never based upon shared values rather it was built upon shared concerns.”

The discussion this evening is especially timely:

    Isaiah 60

“1 Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
2 “For behold, darkness will cover the earth
    And deep darkness the peoples;
But the Lord will rise upon you
And His glory will appear upon you.
3 “Nations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.”

“The Lord is setting the stage, and he is maneuvering the nations.”

FTA: “As in every other area of life, God’s Word must be our guide.”

Politics is spiritual. All of life is spiritual.

FTA: “According to Romans 13, government leaders are “God’s servants.” As I mentioned, perhaps the most direct way to get involved in politics is through elected office. Scripture records many believers whom God raised up and blessed in government. Joseph helped provide food for his people. Deborah helped defend her people by inspiring God’s man to action. Esther put her life at risk, using her influence with the king to help preserve her people. And Nehemiah united the people on a project that provided them security. Elected officials are not necessary evils but “God’s servants,” who, in turn, are to serve the public.”

Another example is Daniel. (In Matthew 24, Yeshua commands us to read Daniel and understand it. Daniel is the only prophet that He specifically commands us to read and understand, and I believe understanding Daniel will help keep us from being deceived, from the unequaled deception that is coming upon the world. Interestingly, the book of Daniel is under heavy criticism. But Daniel gives us the most detail about the person and character of the Anti-Christ. Daniel pulls together all the other OT prophecies of the end times. Daniel 12 and Revelation 12 both mention Satan’s eviction by Michael from heaven in the middle of Daniel’s 70th week

Both Joseph and Daniel were given great power by their kings. And of course Joseph is such a beautiful type and shadow of Yeshua in so many ways. We first read of Joseph in Genesis 30, when he is born; between chapters 30 and 50, Joseph is mentioned in 16 chapters. From 40-50 he is the main subject. That should cause us to pay attention to him.
