It Would Be Better Not to Have Had A Prayer Meeting…

And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.(Exodus 20:1-3)

I hate to be negative, in the after glow of the inauguration and the hope of a new administration. It seems that God has sent a burst of fresh air to a nation beaten down for more than eight long years of feckless leadership, and berated constantly by an ungodly elite class.

But we must be realistic.

I happened to tune into the prayer meeting at the national Cathedral, just in time to hear the two Imams recite “scripture” in the presence of our newly sworn in President and Vice President.

How is it possible to truly beseech the blessing and favor of God, when Satan(Allah) is also acknowledged, as well as Hindu, Sihk and various other false Gods?

I am not surprised mind you. Many have misinterpreted mine and other Christians joy at the defeat and national repudiation of the openly evil Obama/Clinton cabal, as some kind of “trust in Princes” or “Trumpolotry”.

Far from it. I know Trump is not the answer, although I have been open to the possibility that God can use such a man for the good of our nation, and that possibly “even in Judgment, there can be mercy” for sinful, backslidden America. There is yet such a possibility, but an interfaith prayer service is actually a bad omen.God hates idols!

But what a dismal beginning! Don’t the Christian theologians, preachers and pastors who solemnly and beautifully in many cases, lined up to proclaim the scriptures, realize that to do so on an even plane with Idolaters, animists, and Muslims is  an affront to the very God we presumed to beseech the favor of?

It would have been better  to have had no religious service than to have allowed this. I do not believe that Trump personally planned this, and therefore those who did , as well as those “spiritual advisors” Trump has surrounded himself with, have failed him.

God is real, and the installation of a new Government is a seriously spiritual affair, worthy of prayer and the deepest soul searching.

Demons are real too, and it would help if Evangelicals would recover the forgotten truth that all false worship is demonic.

They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.(Deuteronomy 32:17-18)

For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens. Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.(Psalm 96:5-6)

We really do need to pray for our nations perhaps now more than ever, getting rid of a band of leftist criminals is one thing, but what course will the new Government be led upon?

This moment reminds me of a moment within hours of Sept 11,2001. I saw a headline which read, “Why America has already lost the War”… . The Author, Moshe Feiglin related a conversation in a Manhattan coffee shop shorty after the attack,

It was impossible to get away from the reports of the massacre in downtown Manhattan. The news was everywhere: on the air, at home, in the car, in the shops. I entered the neighborhood grocery store. The storekeeper’s radio was on. President Bush was speaking to the American people:

“I declare tomorrow to be a day of prayer”, said the President.

Now that’s interesting, I think to myself, I can’t recall an Israeli Prime Minister who declared a day of prayer. Even when the Yom Kippur War broke out, Golda Meir was shocked, but I don?t remember her asking anyone to pray. After all, I thought, America’s national anthem is directed to G-d and Americans sing “G-d bless America”. Even the British maintain close contact with the Almighty: “G-d save the Queen”. But the Israelis have lost their connection to G-d in their anthem and all that remains is a dismal hope for a meaningless sort of freedom. To whom precisely should they pray?

“I ask every American,” the President continued, breaking into my train of thoughts, “during lunch time tomorrow [not on the employer’s time, like a good Histadrut worker] to pray for all the injured, their families, and the American nation.”

?Go to church, to the synagogue, to the mosque and pray,? ended the President.

“Did I hear right?” I ask the storekeeper, “Did he say mosque?”

She nodded.

“At this very moment you’ve lost the war,” I said to the astonished storekeeper and start looking for what I need on the shelves.

America has lost the war. The Americans have made the same mistake as the Israelis and, just as Israel is retreating from one defeat to the next, so the Americans are now lined up on the track to disintegration.

When the black boxes of the hijacked airplanes are recovered, we will hear the pilots screaming “Allah Akbar” in the last moments before the crash. They slaughtered you in the name of Allah and now the President calls on you to pray to him.(Moshe Feiglin, Why America Already Lost The War”

In this case it isn’t just that there were Muslims praying in the National Cathedral (Which is outrageous enough), but the presence of any idolater or worshipper of false gods is an affront to the very God we claim to invoke!

I realize it is merely an expression of the Spirit of the Age,(Anti-Christ) and that ultimately this will lead to the mysterious Harlot church revealed in Revelation 17, but it is still utterly unacceptable and grieves me. We need to Pray!

Thank you Pastor Bill for this blog, I have forwarded it to a few people. I did not like the inclusion of ‘Pastor’ Paula White in the inauguration and whatever did she mean when she said “….compassion to lead us to our better angels” !! at least there were no feathers! God bless you for these blogs, Rosie Higgs

I agree with you about Pala White, but found the prayer service at the National Cathedral even worse, it was interfaith!

    Amen and Amen

  5. Lisa says:

What exactly do we need to pray about?

    • billrandles says:

Pray for mercy on our nation and guidance for our President, ask God to forgive our nation her sins, and pray that the church be filled with the Spirit.

      • Lisa says:

Thanks for your reply Bill. I guess I don’t understand why we need to pray for mercy for America. Isn’t the end times about the world getting worse and worse?

I can see guidance for our president. However, I also don’t know that those prayers align with what scripture says will happen i.e. the world getting worse…

I don’t understand about praying for God to forgive our nations sins either. We are not Israel and aren’t Christians just individuals that get grafted into the blessing of Israel? Should we then act as if we are incorporated with any nation? To me it’s not the same thing.

I can see praying for Christians to not fall away from the faith and not being deceived but many are falling away from the faith and being deceived. That is also biblical. The thing is Bill aren’t these things supposed to happen in the end times so if we pray for these things to not happen aren’t we then praying against what God is saying will happen and isn’t that bad to do? Anyway, that’s what it seems to me. Don’t mean to be contrary.

      • billrandles says:

Thanks Lisa, I see where you are coming from, but shouldn’t we be al the more prayerful as we see these things coming to pass? The Prophet Habbakuk once prayed “Eben in Judgment , remember Mercy O Lord!” Thanks for your input sister

In reply to your second post: Yes, many things are inevitable, but we shouldn’t let that leave us with a ‘defeatist’ attitude. God’s will is still that people repent and be saved and while there is still time and hope I think that is what we should pray for.

      • Lisa says:

What’s defeatist about God’s will? Who can turn His outstretched hand back? We should be on the alert and looking at the seasons so we know how close we are to His return…

    • Jeanne says:

      How do you pray?

      • Lisa says:

I pray that Jesus come back quickly. And for that to happen then the world has to go very wrong. Jesus Himself tells us that it will be the worst time that the world has ever seen. If I pray against that happening aren’t I then praying against what God says is going to happen? Wouldn’t that be wrong? I think of Jesus telling Peter that He could call 12 legions of angels to rescue Him but then how would scripture be fulfilled saying that it must happen this way?

I am on the alert and watching world events to wait for Jesus’ return. What more can I do besides tell who I can about the Good News?

    • Jeanne says:

“Jesus Himself tells us that it will be the worst time that the world has ever seen. If I pray against that happening aren’t I then praying against what God says is going to happen?”

Who is praying against that happening?

      • Lisa says:

I was continuing my thought process from a previous response of mine. Maybe you weren’t talking to me?

  6. Thank you brother Bill for the word inspired by the Holy Spirit Shalom

I live in Australia and watched the whole inauguration

While watching with discerment and compassion and empath I wept acknowledging what was going down as I am God Fearing

When reading the word of God they continually tainted the word with vain imagination (Sounds so eloquent but so deceptive)

If you are not in the word daily and wanting to be lead by the Holy Spirit it’s its easy to be caught up in it all so beware and on our guard and pray for President Trump and his admistration in the name of Jesus

For those believers I encourage you to get back into the word of God continually and wait patiently on God for answers

If I had a chose to open and through out the inauguration in Prayer and wisdom I would of loved you, David Hocking, Jacob Prasch and a few more to mention

    Love you blokes

  7. Jim Moffatt says:

The Word of Faith “ministry?” of Paula White preaches a different gospel and a different Jesus than the Jesus of the Bible and if the President relies on her spiritual guidance, he will end up like King Saul with the witch of Endor.

    When Paul wrote to Timothy and told him to study to show himself approved to be able to know what the Lord wants us to know and share with others. Paul understood what Timothy was up against and we today, who are serving the Lord are still coming against those with dangerous influence, that would try and replace the righteousness available to all who believe. Peter strongly expressed in his 2nd epistle what we can expect to experience as believers when he wrote the following;
2 Peter 2:1 New International Version
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them–bringing swift destruction on themselves.

  8. Jeanne says:

Muslims have been invited to invoke their Friday prayers at the Washington National Cathedral for a couple of years now, I believe, in case anyone here was not aware of that. My, aren’t they tolerant? This is the Episcopal Church of today. Meanwhile, next door in Virginia, at least eleven former Episcopalian congregations lost their church buildings when they broke away and became Anglican. At least two of them are quite historic, the Falls Church (Falls Church, VA), and Truro Anglican (Fairfax, VA). They were large congregations. I don’t believe any of them have found permanent property yet; that is difficult in Northern Virginia, which has turned that state “blue”.

My husband and I recently relocated to another state, but we lived a five-minute walk from the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) in Northern Virginia, where Imam Mohamed Hag Magid who is originally from Sudan, is the Executive Director. He was one of the imams who invoked Islamic prayers at the service today. He was a frequent visitor to the White House while Obama was President; he has been referred to by some call as Obama’s “Sharia Czar”. The Huffington Post called Magid “America’s Imam”. Magid is also the previous leader of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which was identified by the U.S. government as a financial support entity for Hamas – a designated terrorist organization – and the “nucleus” for the Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamic Movement in North America. You can find lots of information on him at Front Page Magazine (http://www.frontpagemag.com/search/site/magid), for starters.

An interesting story: A few years ago a Christian Sudanese woman, Miriam Ibrahim, was imprisoned in Sudan with her young daughter; her husband is an American citizen. She was pregnant at the time and gave birth to her second child in prison, her legs chained. One Monday morning I remembered that Imam Magid was from Sudan, so I emailed him and the other leadership at ADAMS. It was cordial, and I asked when (not “if”) he would make a public statement regarding the “unjust imprisonment” of Miriam due to her Christian faith. I cited the fact that he was also from Sudan. I never received a response, but on Friday of the same week I happened to take a look at his Facebook page, and lo and behold, he had put up an entry the day before saying that he had visited the Sudanese Ambassador in WDC on Wednesday of that week, and he also put up a copy of a statement he had written, published at ISNA’s website (in retrospect I should have asked him when he would publish a statement in a major newspaper, like the WAPO). Not long after that, Miriam was released from prison, but not with help from the U.S. She had previously been released and was at the airport with her husband and children, and in the presence of U.S. diplomats from the Embassy there, she was again taken into custody by Sudanese officials. In the end, it was the government of Italy that sent one of its planes to Sudan to bring her out.

It is an abomination that any church would allow Islamic prayers, the same prayers shouted by the 9/11 terrorists, to be recited in its building. But the National Cathedral now also performs same sex “marriages”. On August 23, 2011 an earthquake hit Washington, D.C. (I was sitting at my computer and felt the tremors), causing more than $34 million in damage to the Cathedral. God will not be mocked.

    • billrandles says:

Thanks Jeannne, I didn’t know all of that, how grievous!!! May Trump truly be saved and may Washington and America be purged of all Political correctness

    • whoseyour says:

In August 2011, there was a 5.8 mag. earthquake that damaged the structure of the National Cathedral significantly, causing it to close for quite some time to be repaired. This Episcopal church has had multiple female leaders and performs same-sex marriage as well as recognizes other religions as legitimate. I believe that God was speaking in 2011.

    • Lisa says:

Wasn’t Miriam a catholic and not a Christian? I thought catholics have a different gospel?

      • Jeanne says:

The woman in this video was lead to the Lord by a born again Catholic priest. Go to the 8:30 minute mark:

    • billrandles says:

Lyn I will check it out, and thanks for your valuable input…Just being what it is, The National Cathedral, it has immense symbolic importance in spite of the blatant apostasy there. How our nation needs revival! Stay in touch- Pas Bill

  14. Lisa says:

@Jeanne-sorry didn’t see any way to reply to you besides this. A born again catholic priest is a misnomer isn’t it? You can’t be born again and stay a catholic as those two things are opposed to one another. Catholicism is a different gospel and once you are born again into the truth you won’t stay a catholic because it isn’t the truth.

  15. DM Casey says:

Personally I think President Trump is most likely being drawn by the Holy Spirit to Jesus–not in a sudden and dramatic way, but one where he is realizing more and more, little by little, that there is only One who can enable him to lead this great nation–Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Let’s pray the Lord give him discernment and wisdom and humility and strength for the task ahead of him, that He grant President Trump the gift of repentance, and put within him a fierce love for our Lord nothing can shake.

  16. Andrea says:

I came across this pre-election article after watching the inauguration. I am not endorsing this website nor claiming to be in 100 percent agreement with what is said within this article. But what I found interesting, and I fear spot on, is that the author’s opinion was that if Hillary wins, the church will be attacked from the outside. And if Trump wins the church will be attacked from within (deception, etc.).
    http://theresurgent.com/coming-to-terms-with-trump/
Given that we as a church and as individuals are all in danger of a great end time deception, I want to expand some on Lisa’s point she made above about prayer.

Personally I am feeling led to pray for intercession for the body, as well as private prayers of repentance. Acts 26:17-18, Ephesians 1:18. Specifically that hidden sins among individuals and families within the body be revealed before the deception worsens and demonic influences reach a tipping point. praying for hidden sins to be brought out into the open: like pornography and other addictions, ongoing domestic or child abuse situations, selfishness and the narcissism (which is so prevalent in our me first culture). Private prayers of individual repentance: ‘Search me oh God and know my heart’ acknowledging that we as individuals are often blind to our own sins–‘who can know the human heart, it is deceitful above all else’.

    God bless!
