Do You Love The Light? …

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.(John 3:19-21)

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.(Ephesians 5:11-13)

Scripture declares that the true light is now shining in this benighted world. Jesus has come, and revealed to us the only true God, He who has seen Jesus has seen the Father. In the light of Jesus, everything is seen for what it is.

The only way to the Father is now completely visible, in the light of the gospel.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the Life, and no one can come to the Father but through Him! The light of God shows us that We must admit that we are lost, (we have lost our way), and that we have been deceived and that spiritually we are “dead in our sins” and deserving of justice. (the truth and the life).

We who have come into the light , learn to love it. We are exposed now, we know we are sinners and we have seen something of the true ,horrifyingly odious nature of our sins in the sight of God. Yet we remain in the light.

We love the truth, and prize those gifted preachers and teachers who bring out the truth, no matter how convicting. We want our sins and flaws to be exposed, because we know that the same God who exposes them, will purge them out of our life.

The Apostle Paul tells us that this characteristic, ie “the reception of the Love of the Truth” is what will save people from the final deception, the great , damning “delusion” sent as a judgment upon all men by God himself.

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: ( 2 Thessalonains 2:9-13)

Loving the Truth, is loving the light of exposure, before a Holy God, it is the willingness to be seen and known for who we really are in the sight of God, and it is the love of confession of sins, fellowship in a real church, the desire for the full knowledge of God.

In the true church, “the secrets of men’s hearts are revealed” because of the light of God. The knowledge of God, and of the Holy is prized above all else, and pretense and hypocrisy are abandoned. There is no fellowship with darkness or the works of darkness, all is exposed!

If therefore the whole church be come together into one place …  and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.( I Corinthians 14:23-25)

Thus the true church is a fellowship of Light. God’s purifying, cleansing and exposing light is there, where two or more are gathered. All is exposed, and seen. There is truth there, and also fellowship. Love flourishes in the light, because we all know what it is to see ourselves, and to hate what we see, and to know the relief of hearing the father say, “This (coal) hath touched your lips and your iniquity is purged, your sin is forgiven”.

Those of us who are “children of the day”, currently happen to be living in the time of darkness, and night. But we have been drawn to the light, and we love it, and wish to remain at all cost in the light, until the breaking of the dawn, the new day of Righteousness which shall soon commence at the second coming of ur Saviour and Lord Jesus.
