I have been asking the LORD for a Word of Encouragement.
Our world is changing, and as my friend Tony Koretz says, the change lately has been at “Warp Speed”. In the space of a few weeks, so many familiar things have been shut down; Sports, Restaurants, many, many jobs, public gatherings, and even churches have been closed.
So many of us just want to get back to ‘normal’ but I am beginning to think that we will never get back to the ‘normal’ we once knew. The world seems to have entered into another phase in the process which will lead eventually to the great tribulation.
It seems to me to be increasingly obvious that we are being subjected, to various degrees to a serious ‘psychological’ warfare which is intended to demoralize, separate and even dehumanize us.
For example why does the Governor of Illinois tell his constituents that He might have to keep the churches closed for up to another year? (as if it were up to him). Why did Dr. Fauci publicly hope that we as a society, would quit the practice of shaking hands or hugging ?
Why do so many people who take in all of this fear and propaganda feel compelled to preach to strangers, in the store or on the street, the dire need to wear masks? These are otherwise normal people who would never dream of preaching anything to a stranger, but now they berate them as selfish for not wanting to cover their face!
These are just a few examples of the eery, dark and definitely spiritual campaign to oppress us on the level of our humanity. We are far beyond trying to deal with this virus, something else has kicked into society, which is anti-human. No more hugging? No Shaking hands? No getting together in groups of people? No more showing your face in public? (Some people are so compliant, they even wear a mask when they are alone).
What is upsetting also is the fact that our leaders shamelessly seem to be wielding the weapon of fear to herd us into our houses, and away from contact with each other. Fear would be the only way they could do it.
We are seeing with our own eyes the bold threats of those elected officials we thought we could trust with a little power. “There is going to be a second wave of the Pandemic”, “You are going to be responsible for spreading it if we don’t submit to our vaccine”,”We are going to shut down churches and synagogues who do not comply to these edicts”. They have truly scared a good many people out of their wits.
Our world has changed, and there is no going back.
Sigh… I intended to encourage you, dear readers, and yet I have spent the first six or seven paragraphs describing aspects of the problem which I believe is demoralizing so many. Many feel a sense of foreboding, but can’t quite articulate it. I believe that this is a major part of what you may be feeling.
Jesus said, on the night He was betrayed, “This is their hour and the power of Darkness”. Before the end of time, God will grant a short time, to Satan and his followers, to allow evil to come out in it’s fullest expression. God is in control, and we should not be surprised that the stage is being set for this time.
But this attack on our humanity is temporary and ultimately doomed to fail.
We must remember who our God is. Our God reigns! We are not to fear man, but to fear God and Him alone!
When the Gospel comes in it’s last form, as recorded in the 14th chapter of the Revelation, the emphasis is on fearing and worshipping God,
And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.(Revelation 14:6-7)
Part of the Psyops of the recent two months is the suppression of the church itself. I would not condemn anyone who took themselves out of church out of a legitimate concern that they not expose themselves or others to Covid.
Quarantine of the sick or potentially sick is Biblical and acceptable. But quarantine of the healthy?
I believe part of what has happened is to get people out of the habit of regular public worship. America is a place where there are more churches per capita than anywhere else on earth. It is still stunning to me that almost overnight, virtually all of them ceased operations, in total compliance with the Government.
Internet streaming is a blessing, (we do it, and love reaching out that way), but it is no substitute for flesh and blood fellowship. What if part of the ‘dehumanization’ project is to replace everything, even worship, with the ‘convenience of machines? A machine is not going to hand you a piece of bread, and say, “This is my body, broken for you…” as a real brother and sister would.
Go back to church! Plug in and Seek the LORD with others who fear Him, and do not let anyone ever keep you from getting together with the Body of Christ.
Remember that in another time of apostasy and defection, the Prophet Malachi spoke thus,
Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. (Malachi 3:16-18)
Don’t be afraid.
I realize it is easier said than done, but God has shown me that the cure for the fear of Man, is the fear of God. A good many people are afraid. They fear death, change, plague, disease and bodily harm.
Fear of that nature, has led to many concessions, (which in my view are unreasonable). The shutting down of the world’s largest and most vibrant economy, the confinement, of millions of people, and untold mental and spiritual affliction to many individuals due to isolation, have all happened because of fear.
When King David experienced a Plague in his day, due to his sin, (the census) He was given the horrible choice of one of three punishments. To make a long story short, two of those punishments involved Israel falling into the hands of man, and the other, a plague, amounted to coming into the hands of God.
David chose to come into the hands of God. God is just, merciful, all wise, etc.
In a way we are at a similar situation. I do believe there is a Plague, but in a sense we as a society are fallen into the hands of men, in regards to how to deal with it.
Many of us are seemingly at the mercy of “the Experts”; Fauci, Birx, the World Health Organization, and even Bill Gates. Again, we are also in the hands of Governors and Mayors also, whether they be sensible like the Governor of South Dakota, or power hungry like Garcetti, the mad mayor of Los Angeles.
These people, are making the decisions that millions have to live with; when to go back to work, when to open up society, who to quarantine, what medicine is approved or disapproved how many can congregate and even, whether or not to have church services!
These are mere men, not God. Their “solutions ” will drag the problem out ad infinitum, (or until people just get fed up and rebel), because they have obvious conflicts of interest. I do believe things are going to intensify.
But we have hope, in Jesus Christ. Jesus said “I will never leave you, or forsake you… and.. Lo I am with you always to the end of the world”. Lets be free men and women. “Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed”.
We should freely worship, freely give and forgive, freely fellowship, and trust the LORD, come what may. Jesus is coming again to take us unto himself!
Great post. Thank you Pastor Bill. A question for you if you see this.. at what point is it OK to rebel in the eyes of God. That pastor (bad theology etc etc) who stood against the lockdown in Florida had all his charges dropped. If you believe that they’re crashing the world economy over a common cold (amazing…) or a failed manufactured contagion (the Q movement people believe this I think), is it OK to go against the “mandates” and pretend like nothing is happening? If everyone did this, the string-pullers would lose a lot of their mind control power over the population and the psyop would be at least partially exposed.
It is legitimate to have church and to go out and make a living, God commands both and we must obey God over the State, hope this helps
Thanks Pastor Bill! That does help.
Cheers
– random guy who listens to most your sermons on YT since I became a Christian a couple years ago.
Welcome to the family brother, come by and fellowship with us sometime would you?
With the earlier post… I should have just pasted the whole excerpt…
(We may reason… but, God said to… love others.
It’s real easy to say this when money is flowing in to meet our needs… even if that money is gained by theft—the Fed printing money to produce the government bail outs and inflated values of stocks and assets. The small business owners and their employees, and the savers (all are now considered… “non-essential”) get locked down… they get the short-end of the stick, again.
When did we come to view a business, that meets tangible demands of people and feeds families, and free access to our own money, as… “non-essential”?
God also said… don’t destroy a tree that bears fruit… a person’s ability to grow food… their ability to find something to eat (Deuteronomy 20:19-20; Matthew 3:9-10; Exodus 22:5; Deuteronomy 23:24-25 ; 24:19; 25:4; 1 Timothy 5:18; Proverbs 23:10-11). And… don’t steal.
If we agree to the attitude of “preventing someone from earning a living”, would it be counter to the message of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God… to feed people with, make it possible to find, the True Food of the Word of God? If we can’t be trusted with mammon, can we be trusted with real treasure (Luke 16:10-12)?
Do we justify the saving of our life, or our loved ones, at the expense of the destruction of an innocent neighbor or stranger’s life… all in the name of… our “love” for others? Are we an all-wise god who gets to decide… who pays with their life and who is spared? Isn’t his how Hitler viewed himself?)
Thanks Pastor Bill. I would love to. I got my little family out here in Thailand for the foreseeable future, but when and if we can make it to the states, that would be really really awesome to come fellowship with you and the brothers and sisters there at Believers In Grace. A great reason to visit Iowa! Thanks again for your online sermons Pastor Bill!
Wonderful keep me in touch brothet
Well thought out as usual Brother Bill, we are definitely on the same page….
Thank you Pastor, for even more clarity. I was beginning to wonder if my two sisters in Christ and I, were the only ones seeing what’s really going on here. So many Christians are falling into fear, and not seeing the bigger picture, according to scripture. We have been studying the book of Revelation, here in our home.
Everything is pointing to the end. There is no 2 Chronicles 7:14…”and heal their land.”
We have arrived at a place of no turning back. Truly as Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, and many other books have described the “Day of the Lord,” we are in the beginning of sorrows.
Keep pressing forward…Jesus will be our Prize!💙
Keep looking up, and spread the Word as widely as possible sisters, the time s short- Maranatha!
Thanks Pastor Bill, we are a very small biblical fellowship of about 16 in the Isle of Wight off the south coast of the UK. We all love and look forward to your messages. The majority of churches here do not teach the whole council of God so we have been meeting in our homes for about 15/16 years, except since March!!!
Well written, the same message we believe also. May the Lord bless you richly as you continue in His work. And keep you safe and well.
First I will say it is definitely true fear of God is an antidote to fear in general. I have not experienced any fear during this whole matter. But there was one night, early on, that it dawned on me I had engaged in behaviors that wouldn’t protect me. I had shaken hands with a traveling entertainer as well as others in the room (and stood closer than is considered appropriate for distancing). Then, I had come out to my car and picked up a bottle of water and screwed off the top and taken a drink. I was simply aware of the facts. I did, indeed, end up with the infection. (Not that I had the test. But there is a unique symptom, in addition to the other symptoms that one could write off as flu or a cold or even allergies, that I’ve never had before and that a nurse described as seen in everyone she encountered with covid-19). Still, this didn’t upset me. It has passed.
But there is a wide variety of mental or psychological (or the like) reactions people are having that don’t seem rational, and these reactions range from overly not concerned to overly concerned. In some ways, these are an extension or simply in addition to other irrational or not fact based ways people have been perceiving current events or other matters. But… to stick to the reactions in this specific situation in the last few months, anyone who thinks they have to wear a mask when they are alone is overreacting. I heard of someone like a congressman who had a rebellious attitude and said he didn’t want to have to have a mask on in the shower. Well, no one suggested he should wear one in the shower. Then, at a different end of a range, we have people insisting on encroaching on other people’s space… for no worthwhile reason.
A man near a crowd of hundreds of people carrying guns walked up to a stranger (who had no gun) and his wife (and baby) who had simply wanted to take a walk. He approached in a manner as if he thought It made all the sense in the world to get up close and act very familiar with the unknown family. But this man, closing in on the family, was carrying a huge iron tool over his shoulder. (I do mean huge. I’ve never seen anything that big that wasn’t operated by a machine, but the man carrying it was strong enough to fling it over his shoulder.) We know that crow bars and bats are often used as weapons, which made this thing called a pipe wrench seem like a potential weapon in this sea of guns. The stranger calmly told the encroaching man to stay back from his family, and had to tell him several times. The encroaching man was stubborn.
You said: I would not condemn anyone who took themselves out of church out of a legitimate concern that they not expose themselves or others to Covid.
Part of what should have happened during these weeks/months of keeping a distance or staying home is an influx of tests. But the tests have not been provided.
Tests were available early on but rejected. So, both our earlier warning than other countries had and our time invested with “social distancing” were not optimized.
With testing (for everyone with or without symptoms), those who carried the virus could have discovered this of themselves and chosen to stay away from others.
I was informed I was exposed and knew to stay away from others. But I would now like to have a different kind of test to see if I have antibodies. They’re not available yet.
I have mixed feelings about shaking hands. You might recall that Donald Trump went through a time, years ago, of not shaking hands with people; he knew many are germy.
Thanks Pastor Bill. It stunned me too that all the churches in Australia shut down overnight without a whisper of protest/complaint. We are just having church from home now, and have people joining us. Come quickly Lord Jesus
We wish we could come there and be with you…we are in Spirit, Greetings to Matthew and yto your beautiful young Lady
