Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision.(Psalm 2:1-4)
According to the Divine Psalmist, the Kings of the Earth and the rulers have embarked on an all-encompassing liberation movement, seeking to use their influence to break society free from the “bands” and “cords” of the religion of the LORD and his Christ!
This revolt has been a long time in the making, and no doubt it is much more than a merely human conspiracy, for Satan himself works on the level of the “Kings of the earth and the rulers”, through “Principalities,powers, and rulers of the darkness of this Age”.
The French revolution was the first large-scale atheistic attempt at stripping away the Christian influence from a formerly ‘Christian country’. Among other horrors, the king was beheaded, a prostitute was nominated “the goddess of reason” in the Notre Dame cathedral, the working week was artificially reconstructed into a ten day cycle (with only one day of rest), and as much as possible the shackles of Christianity were removed from the French.
The slogan of the revolution, “Liberty Equality and Brotherhood” soon drowned in rivers of blood that ran down the French streets as the “liberation movement” descended into a chaotic, blood thirsty power struggle that ended in a godless Dictatorship, bent on world conquest.
Behold, in the howling guillotine spectacles, man liberated from his God. The nightmare scenes of crowds roaring their approval as the rich and noble “get their due”, the humiliation of the nobility, and the replacement of the old ruling elite by an even crueller and more ruthless ‘revolutionary” elite would be played out over and again , in countless locations in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Revolutionaries were going to smash the old world and bring in a new, more humane , scientific and enlightened world, after equalizing all outcomes, and banishing “superstitious religion ” to the fringes of society, hopefully to fade away into obscurity. This was revolution by atheism and even satanism.
There have been so many manifest failures of this experiment, in Russia, China, Eastern Europe, South America, that it is hard to imagine why anyone could even believe in it anymore. But it is a faith, not just politics, it is a deeply rooted dogma, and the faith is not easily shaken , even in the face of apparent failure.
It is also hard to calculate the human toll in death, misery, poverty and oppression these atheistic revolutions inevitably bring about. As Stalin once said, “One death is a tragedy, but a million deaths are only a statistic”. Lenin also is credited as saying, when queried about the political murders, the assassinations, and brutal suppression involved in ‘revolution’, “You have to break some eggs to make an omelete.”
The tenets of this religion is that Man can get rid of the old Judeo Christian influence and construct a better society without God. Also that we would actually be better off without christianity or the Bible, and even that perhaps the time for tolerance of the old religion is over.
Envy is exalted in this religion, into a virtue. It isn’t fair that people succeed, that they enjoy all of the fruits of their labor, that they pass on an inheritance to their own children. This religion would deify the State, all property really belongs to the Government.
Amazingly, after the manifest failure of this religion to create or sustain a civil, productive society, it is being implemented in the United States, formerly the most beneficial and productive society in the world.
The Kings of the earth are clever in the way they attempt to dismantle the western societies to bring them to the place where they can “cast off the cords” of our Judeo Christian heritage.
The assault on our culture required a complete revision of our history, in the education of our young people. Every fault and flaw had to be exaggerated, emphasised and distorted, while at the same time the record of any person or event that is a noble part of our own history has had to discredited or ignored.
What is American history according to modern high school textbooks? The answer according to our multicultural educators; slavery, sexism, oppression of blacks and Indians, treaty breaking, exploitation of minorities, and racism. What happened in World War 2? We interned the Japanese Americans, and used the atomic bomb. That is about it!
The effect of this has been to demoralize our own young people, into thinking that this nation, the most benevolent, Protestant, evangelical, democratic, self-governing in human history, is the cause of virtually all of the world’s ills.
Another way the Kings of the earth try to “cast off the cords” is through the use of un-assimilable immigration. Millions of third world immigrants , animists, Hindus and most effectively Moslems have been pouring into the christian western nations ,altering food, customs, holidays and institutions. Almost universally, this is done against the will of the people who pay the taxes.
When the people want to make leaders responsible for the anti-christian direction they are taking their nations they dismissed as ignorant, xenophobic racists. Then those leaders just open up the gates and bring in even more immigrants from third world nations, and voila, the politicians have a new constituency and no longer need listen to the tax payers.
The Muslim immigrants are particularly useful in canceling out the remaining traces of the once prevailing public expression of Christian influence in the west, because they are so ultra sensitive, and violently demand that their sensitivity be appeased. Crosses are taken down, offensive symbols , public scriptures, national holidays and a host of other trappings of the old religion are altered, diminished, if not outright canceled in the name of not offending our ‘guests’.
It remains to be seen whether or not the “Kings of the earth” will be able, after successfully destroying the public, christian nature of our societies, to get the Muslim Genie back into the bottle again, and to put the cork back in again.

Sad to say and I pray I’m wrong but I don’t think this worlds situations will get any better till this happens………2 chronicles 7-14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. He gave us this promise, he’s waiting for our reply. Please pray! The fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.
Maybe I am incorrect, but with reading the above in context:
“My people, who are called by My Name…”
that is “Israel”… the Israelites, the Jewish people.
He gave them this promise (in light of their ‘national repentance’ and returning to Him):
to heal “their land” , which is Israel. No promises to ‘heal America’, or any other land that I know of.
We Christians can only pray and seek Him as individuals within a wicked, corrupt and quickly-falling nation… Still, we know He IS merciful, and DOES hear the cries of “His people” (within ALL nations, tribes, races, languages)… but still, only one of those nations is “called by His Name” (Israel) and has been given specific promises. (In the end, they WILL return, WILL be healed, and WILL be restored 🙂 Maranatha
I am aware God is speaking of and to Israel. But I have always used the Old Testament as if it speaks to me personally or our nations directly when it speaks about Israel and the nation of Israel. If I’m right, Amen. If I’m wrong, may God let me use them for my own to drive them to jealousy by my foolishness.
In this age of Grace now that Jesus has come and paid the price for our redemption, ISRAEL has become all those who have received Him as Savior and Lord. Israel in the ME is no more than geographical Israel and has no more special treatment than what we called today the “Church” i.e those that belong to Christ. The rest without faith in Jesus’ covering by His redemptive Blood is part of the world, be the Jews and Israelites in Israel or Muslims and Arabs in Saudi Arabia amongst others any where in the world. So the promises given to Israel through the “Israel of old” have become in their right context, promises to spiritual ISRAEL commonly called the “Church”. We the “Church” made of all from any background, be Jewish or Gentile submitted to Christ, can claim the promises YHWH (God) made to the all descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Gal_3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
I get so tired of hearing the church replaced Israel. in Zechariah G-d tells us that when He stands on the Mt of Olive, HE wlll bring up the dead, pour pure water on them, give them a new heart and HE will be their G-d, and they mourn for like a first son etc. and then says ALL Israel will be saved. and reading romans nine , ten and eleven HE lets us know how we should treat HIS CHOSEN People. anyone against them in any way or does not pray and love them are cursed, even those who don’t hate or love them is accursed Gen 12:3. if one is against Israel, they are against Almighty G-d. in Romans 11 , he again tells us they will be saved. He is building up Zion and that is where HE will come back to . G-d also said he would give double punishment to the pulpits. There are so many churches who are against HER…so sad…People need to realize that only the bible is truth. and G-d said it is better to believe G-d than man…Apostasy is blooming and many are on the wide road to destruction…these last wars there , Israel will win…In one hour Isaiah 17 at night, Damascus is rubble.. and in four days Iran’s bushre nuke plant is destroyed.. pray, and stay in the word, HE IS coming so soon, the 2000 yrs is up. a thousand yrs is like a day to the L-rd. and HE said HE would be back in two days… and some churches seem to think Trump is not saved.. they think they have been forgiven, but he isn’t.. that is not G-d’s Gospel… remember socialism is communism and humanism is paganism, and G-d said HE hated paganism and traditions of men.. Abraham wasn’t Jewish… (Jacob/Israel) came after Abraham.
Abraham “believed God” and it was credited to him as righteousness. That is the Way of salvation for ALL time (Old and New Testaments). Only now, we have Messiah Jesus revealed, Who Israel (as a nation) has rejected at this time. Believing Gentiles have been grafted in to The Vine (Jesus) even as most of Israel (unbelieving) has been broken off…. HOWEVER, we believing gentiles have NOT replaced national Israel (read Romans) – and there are promises that pertain only to that specific nation… and YES, those who bless Israel will be blessed – because that IS His chosen nation upon this Earth. We must not deny that – it is God’s Word.

God said that he would bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel/the Jews. In that sense, I believe that America has been very blessed because of its support for Israel/the Jews. When that support is no longer there, America, like ANY nation that curses Israel, will also be judged.
You cannot understand what is going on today in the Middle East and you cannot understand the end times, if you do not understand Genesis, indeed Genesis to Malachi. You cannot understand Revelation if you don’t understand Genesis. What happens in Genesis is resolved in Revelation. What was lost in Eden is restored in Revelation. I submit that you cannot really understand the “New Testament” if you don’t have a grasp of the Old Testament, because much of what we call the New Testament is actually a commentary on the Old Testament. After all, the writers of the New Testament only had the Old Testament.
There is only one Bible, Genesis to Revelation, not a “Jewish” part and a “Christian” part. The Bible is a thoroughly Middle Eastern book. It is Israel-centric, Messiah-centric, and Jerusalem-centric.
Yeshua was not a Christian. Yeshua was thoroughly Jewish. He was born a Jew, he was raised as a Jew, he lived as a Jew, he died a Jew, he was resurrected a Jew, and he is coming back as a Jew to rule the world from a real city, Jerusalem.

I’ve said for a long time that the French never recovered from their bloody and violent revolution. It did not produce the results they were looking for, unlike the American War for Independence, based on a completely different worldview. The atheistic ideology behind the French Revolution has permeated French culture down to this day, including, for example, French cinema. Don’t get me wrong; there are some beautiful French films. But there is often a thread of ideological pessimism that seems to run throughout many of them, and I’ve seen some very strange ones. I read a biography of Abigail Adams several years ago, and was struck by her impression of France. She had gone to France to be with her husband, John Adams, but visited Great Britain first. She thought she would not like Great Britain, but as it turned out she was shocked by the French who were, among other things, dirty and unkempt, and nasty. Read about the use of ridicule in French society. The French made ridicule into an art. (There’s a scene in the classic film “Marie Antoinette”, when Marie Antoinette meets Madame du Barry, the King’s mistress. It’s a classic example of the use of ridicule to publicly humiliate someone.)
The revisionist history is an attempt to separate us from our heritage.
Atheism leave a void in a culture, and no void likes to be left unfilled. Enter Islam. We see the results in France and elsewhere in Europe.
Yes indeed the French has kept a thread in the culture from the “Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite” revolution. This as much as the British has kept and exported with them in their conquest the culture marked by their spiritual leaders such as John Wesley’s. Though on both sides there is a mingle, nonetheless those traits of history remain. But let’s not forget about the Huguenots and many such like for instance who have deeply suffered for their religion and the cause of Christ.
Beside this fact, it is important to my mind to not forget what brought about the French Revolution. Let’s never forget the influence of the Pope on the kings circumstances in these countries of those times. There is enough historical records to show the tyranny on the common people the Papacy was executing through the kings of Europe as to maintain their provision of wealth and power. This in the course of time provoked enough exasperation and desperation among the masses to completely and utterly uphold a revolutionary enthusiasm. Now let’s not forget that this tyranny was executed pressuring people to ignorance, in the name of Christ!
How logical then that this fact of history remain in the culture as to keep many minds away from those who claim the Christian religion? On the spiritual side we know that the devil will use any conditions if not create them, to his own rebellious and destructive means.
We perhaps can be dismayed at the political situation and the turning away from the ways of the Lord by many. However, should we not first review the performance of the “Organised Church” as to expect better consideration from the people towards the Lord whom she claims to uphold, and distance such as a “revolution”…, against the Lord? But the devil knows how to hide in his religious hood. We could ask why is the Lord delaying to deliver. But just as the Apostles didn’t understand that Jesus had to die, we neither understand why he would delay or not intervene. But I hear the prayers of the Saints going up… and they are not lost.
So we can look at the French and somewhat disparage but, what would we have done taken in these turbulent revolutionary days, or even be one of Jesus disciples? The question is, what is the witness of the church in these days and age? Is it on its way to step back as it were, into the past? Will the elect be deceived? It would frankly pay to think more about it.
