Scriptures to Consider For our Times…

Brother Aaron passed these on to me at early morning men’s prayer, and I thought I would give them a larger platform. For your consideration , an prayer…

Ps 95 7 Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts and become spiritually dull as at Meribah [the place of strife], And as at Massah [the place of testing] in the wilderness,

They complained because there was no water.  They said they might as well have died in the last plague. They didn’t trust God, even though they saw miracles.

2 Chronicles 6 Solomon’s dedication of the temple If people sin, if they’ve been defeated by their enemy, if there’s famine, locusts, plague, or sickness, and they pray, then forgive and render to each of them so that they may fear You, to walk in Your ways

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 13 If I shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or if I command locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence and plague among My people, 14 and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.

Leviticus 26 If you do not obey me, but reject my statues: I will appoint to you terror, fever, useless seed.  You will be struck down by your enemies. I will break your pride in your power. If, then I will increase the plague on you seven times I will let loose the [wild] animals If, then I will send pestilence (virulent disease).  They will ration your bread. Yet if in spite, I will lay waste your cities.  I will make the land desolate. I will scatter you among the nations Then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths. If they confess their wickedness and the wickedness of their forefathers, then I will remember My covenant with Jacob.

Jeremiah 18:7-8 7 At one moment I might [suddenly] speak concerning a nation or kingdom, that I will uproot and break down and destroy; 8 if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent and reverse My decision concerning the devastation that I intended to do.

My hubby and I are not much for movies, but last night we watched an older film: Hacksaw Ridge. It’s graphic (a war film), but not gratuitously, and is based on a true story. If anyone wants to see how faith is lived out in a crisis, watch that one. Or re-watch if you saw it years ago.

“If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15:26

  4. Steve Hanna says:

Hab 3:17 – Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Hab 3:18 – Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Hab 3:19 – The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.
