Blatant, Flat Out Apostasy On Display… Noahide Community

“In the Last days, many shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing Spirits and Doctrines of Devils…” (I Timothy 4:1)

If you want to see shocking apostasy on display, look no further than what is called the Noahide movement.

Noachides, are gentiles who do not want to convert to Judaism, but are intrigued by it, attracted to it, and open to it’s vigorous criticism of Christianity. Since all living men are descended from Noah and one of his Sons, Rabbis teach that Righteousness for Gentiles comes by subscription to one of the seven General laws for all men. It is shocking how appealing this has become to many who had been Christian at one time.

I have been involved as a Pastor and Author in the defense of the Faith for about thirty years now critiquing the errant Spiritual Warfare movement the Toronto Blessing and Pensacola phenomenom and have written books on how to discern false Prophets and false movements.

But I have not seen apostasy as blatant and dangerous as what I have been seeing coming out of the so called “Noahide Movement”.

What is it about this movement that I find so disturbing?

I have recently been witness to the open testimony of “Pastors” calling themselves “ex Christians”, referring to our LORD as “JC man”, and in effect denouncing the cross, the deity of Christ, the need for the blood of Jesus, being born again, and the New Testament, in the name of the Torah of God!

Here is a link to just one example of a “testimony” of a former Pastor who has renounced Christianity, and become “Torah Observant”.

I have no problem with the recognition of the fact that Jesus Christ is Jewish as are the Bible, the Apostles, the epistles and the majority of the early church. Our religion is thoroughly Jewish and an appreciation of it is very important to take into account if one wants a deep and rich understanding of our faith.

Furthermore, I believe that the near ignorance promoted in many churches of the so called, “Old Testament” has set many up for this apostasy, which will damn the souls of all of those who take it as far as the former pastor whose testimony I have linked above.

It is one thing for Christians to come to an appreciation for the Jewish roots of our faith. It is another to “go Torah”, study under Rabbis such as Tovia Singer, and others, ( Who have launched direct, intense and devastating assaults on nearly everything we Christians believe. What is the end of this Journey?

For some, the end is an interest in Jewish roots, the feasts of the LORD, Sabbath observance, perhaps going Kosher, calling Jesus “Yeshua” etc. But for an increasing number of others, the end is much more ominous… Joining the Noahide community, (which means reconverting as a “Righteous Gentile”), seeking Righteousness by subscription to the, “seven Noahide laws”, (instead of Righteousness by Faith in Jesus), and renouncing Jesus as LORD and Savior.

I don’t recommend everybody listen to the testimony above, I shared it because it is a perfect illustration of the phenomenom I am warning about. Here we had a very “successful” evangelical Pastor, whose spiritual emptiness in the world of shallow church; growth, success, etc, led him to Rabbis, the Torah, and neo Judaism. (The Judaism of today is not the same Judaism as that of the Prophets and of Jesus).

The comments afterward scared me as much as the testimony. They numbered in the hundreds and frequently began “Since I left xtianity…”, or made reference to “jc man”,

Here are some examples (No names)

I said the exact same thing when I left xtianity for Torah Judaism: I was born again –  again! That’s exactly what it felt like. I’d been a xtian from age 18 to 62. It only took a few study groups & videos for me to see the truth. Baruch Hashem!

This is 2018 and for 4 years i struggled – the same struggle. All my life i have been a so called christian and i am tired. I need to be home with the Adonai that is echad. Thank you. This is happening to many christians. Hashwm is doing a great work.

this testimony was very inspiring. I have went through close to the same discoveries that He went through coming out of Idolartry ie Xtianity! it’s great to hear such amazing stories of devout Gentiles seeking Truth, finding truth in Torah and Judaism!

There are hundreds more of these. It all sounds so appealing and nice. It sounds a lot like Christian testimonies that we have all heard over the years, and rejoiced in. Until you really realize what each of these testimonies entails; the repudiation of Jesus…His deity…his claims…his sacrifice as a propitiation… .

Much of this apostasy is an indictment of the increasingly shallow aspect of modern evangelicalism, the “seeker sensitive movement”, church growth programs, teeny bopper worship leaders, etc, etc, leaving serious minded seekers of God empty and disillusioned as this response to the apostate pastor’s testimony heartbreakingly relates,

When you talk about reading the book on the ‘pastor’s guide to building a church’ and you felt sicker the more you read it. I had a similar experience but in a different way. I was attending church for 2 years and by the 3rd year, I found I couldn’t sit in teachings anymore because I would literally feel so sick in my stomach. I would feel like I wanted to vomit. All I saw was a promotion, a business, an entertainment venue. I had this overwhelming feeling like they were desecrating the word of G-d and it made me sick. I had to walk out. In fact, I walked out of a conference by a mega-church that I’d paid $300 to attend. I walked out not even half way through the 1st of of 3 day conference and gave my tickets away. I’ve been in the Messianic movement for 7 months but i’m just now seeing the truth about who HaShem really is. That Jesus is not the Messiah whether you call him Jesus, or Yeshua. He’s still not it! Only the Jews have the knowledge of HaShem. There is only one G-d!

We are living the book of Hebrews again. People who had at one time converted to Christ, knew Him, and many who had actually served in the ministry, are being persuaded to cast all of that aside, in the name of “Hashem” and the “Torah”.

Hebrews has very powerful warnings to the apostates,

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

( Hebrews 6: 4-8)

I will be explaining what the Noachide movement is, and talking about the new breed of super enthusiastic, aggressive Rabbis on the scene today, who are attacking Christianity on every level, they call the Apostles and the Jesus into Question, accuse us all of AntiSemitism, discredit the Bible and accuse Apostles of daring to distort the test of scripture.

I see this movement as being potentially devastating to the many, who for various reasons are disillusioned with “church as usual” or as it has developed to be, with shallow and humanistic preaching, and are at a point where the newness and mystique of “going Torah” could send them over the eternal precipice forever. Jesus is LORD.

Pastor Bill… this is what’s been on my heart the last few days after listening to one of your blog readings…

We’re created for His pleasure, not ours. Revelation 4 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

    Coupled with this…

We know God takes no pleasure in evil but loves righteousness (Ezekiel 18 & 33)… so this would be His will.

Do those that ultimately reject Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior, Redeemer, and High Priest just love sin (darkness) so much they will use anything for a scapegoat excuse for what they really want… to be their own god?

If we truly love God… we would want to seek His pleasure which is Jesus Christ as our righteousness… to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17;17:5; 2 Peter 1:17).

    Ephesians 5: 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

John 6: 37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. 38For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

Galatians 1 3Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: 5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Unfortunately there are many who are ripe for heresies. If you don’t know the true gospel you can easily be swallowed up by the false. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the Power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew and also to the Greek.” Rom 1:16

  5. Severiano von Buchenroder says:

Thanks for doing this piece, Pastor Bill! This is an area where few Christian apologists dare to touch upon, I suppose its because of very little info/knowledge on this particular matter. Truly, it is one of the fastest growing cultic movements we have seen in recent memory, and personally I have seen quite a number of former Hebrew Roots adherents, disillusioned with the faith, now starting to embrace this demonic aberrational dogma.

    • Severiano von Buchenroder says:

And mind you, from my experience, most converts are mostly the extreme lunatic fringe within the Hebrew Roots cult (I’m not, however referring to the Biblically based Messianic Judaism which exalts Yeshua above Jewish traditions and feasts, rather those Gentiles who exalt Jewisness over Yeshua).

      Blessings

  6. Excellent piece. I’ve watched it going this way for a number of years, having spoken at many ‘Messianic Fellowships’ – where the majority are gentile believers.

Like most deceptions, it’s a slow and subtle transformation from one Kingdom to the other, but it can be spotted a mile off, with their worship of anything Jewish – rather than the Jewish Mashiach Himself.

It indicates that they think Yeshua, The Lord Jesus Christ, isn’t ‘enough’… but to add the dreadful insult of denial makes me wonder if they were ever saved in the first place.

  7. Francois says:

I’ve seen something similar with someone I knew. After a falling out at the fellowship he turned away and got into strange teachings, eventually renouncing Jesus.

When people get hurt at church they feel like giving up on Christianity as a whole, but that’s not the answer. People will let you down, but God won’t. There will be another fellowship of faithful believers that you can be a part of.

  8. Hi Pastor Bill, Thank you so much. Lucy Winkler

  9. In 2011, a well-respected pastor started at our tiny UK fellowship. He stood firmly against the likes of Rick Warren, Toronto, etc, as did we all. However, after about six months, he became obsessed with Torah observance and Hebrew roots – it was literally all he preached on from that time on: “We must keep the Torah and observe the feasts,” – as far as he was concerned, it was a salvation issue. He even changed John 14:6 to say Torah is the way, the truth and the life! The final straw came the following passover when he suggested that I procure a lamb for him to sacrifice. He could not be reasoned with and had to go. Sadly, he took half of the fellowship with him. Deception can be very seductive.

  10. John says:

It’s very evident the man was never born again. No witness of the Lord in his life. As John say’s
He that has the Son of God has the witness in himself. His search was more for morality than salvation.

  11. Thank you dear Brother! This is so scary and is really hard to believe. I am 88 years old and have been a Born Again Christian for 30 years and was a JW before that. But this is the scariest thing I have ever heard! Thank you again!!!!!

  12. Di Kane says:

Thank you for your biblically warnings, Pastor Bill.

    God bless your ministry, Di.
