The Occult: Why God hates it…Occult pt 2

When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.  For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.  Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.  For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee so to do. (Deuteronomy 18:9-14)

We have been looking at the subject of ‘the Occult” , which literally means “the Hidden” , the things pertaining to spirituality, means of divination, knowledge and power which comes from sources other than the God of the Bible.

The Lord is not passive about it, He hates it. All forms of the occult are abominable to Him, and so also are all of those who practice it, they too are detestable to the One true God. So much for the adage “Love the sinner, but hate the sin”. It is not so easy t make such a distinction.

What is it about the Occult which the LORD hates so passionately? Why was any form of Occultism a capitol crime in Israel, and why dd God commend Kings for rooting out and clearing the land of Israel from all witches, wizards, stargazers, Mediums and any other form of occultism?

We have already considered the first reason, which is rooted in God’s Holy nature. The LORD our God is a jealous God. The innermost souls of men are reserved for communion with Him alone, and not any other entity or being. His is a holy jealousy, a zeal to preserve that which is a legitimate relationship.

The Second reason why God hates the Occult is because participation in any form of it is a rebellious attempt to make contact with the sworn enemies of God and of man.

The Bible teaches two non contradictory things about all false gods; that they are “nothings” and that they are indeed “somethings”.

On the one hand there is only one true God, the infinite personal Creator and Redeemer, the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, the Blessed Triune God, Father,Son and Holy Spirit. There is no way God can be truly known , other than as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Thus the other “gods” are all idols, “nothings” or literally “vanities”.

For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.(Psalm 96:5)

... we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.( I Corinthians 8:4)

These “gods” are nothings, they can’t do anything, they are worthless, they cannot speak or see or walk, they are empty nothings. There is nothing to them, and no help in them.

But the Bible also teaches that behind everyone of them is something, or an entity of some kind, which is malevolent, deceptive , fallen and an enemy of God and man!

(For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.  ( I Corinthians 8:5-6)

There are “gods” and “lords” indeed , which the idols only represent, or which becomes a focal point for the worship of these fallen entities. This is why God utterly hates the Occult, because to puts people in direct contact with these entities, setting them up for deception or moral and spiritual enslavement. (All forms of the Occult are incredibly corrupting to the personality).

The Bible tells us that all forms of false worship actually goes to the devil and to demons, and that all of the old “gods” are entities which still remain.

They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.  They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.. Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. (Deuteronomy 32:16-18)

What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. ²Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? ( I Corinthians 10:19-22)

All false gods are actually devils, fallen Angels, estranged spirits which are doomed. They are the enemy of God, and any who participate in any form of spiritual intercourse with them will be defiled, and open themselves for corruption and delusion and possibly spirit possession.

The ancient gods which seduced Israel were all very real entities, and they never go away,(until the final judgment).

Incredibly , Ba’aL has been making a tour of the power centers of the world lately. How so? The story is incredible, but true…

ISIL ( Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) briefly held a Syrian town, called Palmyra, which was an archeologists dream. It had amazing ruins, perfectly preserved examples of Greco Roman and Arabian architecture, including the “Arch of Ba’al”.

ISIL , being Icono-clastic Muslims, sought to destroy the Arch of Baal. But after ISIL was driven out the Institute For Digital Archeology, and Italian consulate to the UN worked together to reconstruct the Arch and then to take it on a world tour,

The Arch of Baal – also known as the Arch of Palmyra – was reconstructed at the Capitol Mall in Washington, DC, on Thursday and displayed through Sunday, allowing spectators to marvel in the pagan false god of power, fertility and child sacrifice worshiped by the apostate Queen Jezebel of the Bible and ancient Phoenicians and Canaanites.

In recent years, the reproduced pagan exhibit has been taking a global tour to major cities for residents and visitors to marvel in – despite its Satanic significance, as described in the Bible.

“Previously, it has spent time in London, New York City and Dubai … known as the Arch of Palmyra, the original was destroyed by ISIS in 2015, so, of course, internationalists decided to rebuild it and turn it into a traveling roadshow,” WND reported. “The fact that Baal – also known colloquially in the Christian world as Beelzebub – was another name for Satan, didn’t raise many questions. He’s kind of the Bible’s anti-God – mentioned more often in Scripture than any deity other than the God of Israel  Arch Of Ba’al Erected To Pagan’s Delight

There is definitely something evil inspiring this resurrection of Ba’al, Molech, Diana, and a good many other “gods” of the past. The entire world is being prepared for its final religious test, and the rank obsession with the Occult is very much setting us up to fail it.
