The Reason For Their Damnation… the delusion

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. ( 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. ( John 3:19-20)

The Apostles and Prophets of the Bible and our Lord Jesus Christ himself, bring a very severe warning, especially to we who live in this terminal generation. We have been discussing that warning in this series; ie that God himself will send a strong delusion to this generation, causing them to believe the LIE and consequently they shall be damned.

They will be damned…ruined forever…banished from all that makes being a human being worthwhile… forever exiled from God and all that is holy, true and beautiful. Every little comfort and satisfaction that we have ever known, but barely noticed or taken for granted, will be stripped away from the Damned.

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; ( 2 Thessalonians 2:7-9)

But the Damned will remember every opportunity to be redeemed that was ever presented to them…forever. Perhaps one of the most agonizing spiritual torments we can imagine, is regret. I mean deep seated, hearted wrenching remorse… . Jesus is the one who puts it best, “there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth…” in the place of eternal damnation.

How could the loving and Holy God send a “strong delusion” to seal the perdition of the Damned? Why would he allow them to believe the lie and be damned?

They (the Damned) insisted on it, they even demanded the LIE. They made it obvious time after time, that they much preferred the LIE to the Truth that God sent to them.

As I have said many, many times, in the course of my meager but constant public ministry , If there wasn’t a Joel Osteen, TD Jakes, Kenneth Copeland, or a Benny Hinn, someone wold have to invent one. Why? Because all they are is projections of the unfaithfulness and idolatry of people in the church itself who have rejected the truth in preference of baubles such as Prosperity, non judgmentalism, and the deification of man.

So it is in the World. They will have been presented with Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark, Luke or Paul, time and again.

But the Damned much prefer false prophets such as Oprah Winfrey, Mohammed, Deepak Shopra, Ghandi, Mother Teresa, or the other countless thousands of false prophets who are operating in and out of the church today. All of them preach something very humanistic and man centered that appeals to certain segments of the Damned.

Oprah lets us know that we are all a part of God. This appeals to many because pantheism and panentheism have pretty much replaced the old Judeo Christian Theism. Thus the sharp distinction between Creator and Creation has been blurred.People think we are all “gods”, which is the lie of the serpent.

Mohammed is very appealing, almost irresistible to one out of seven people in the World, because He tells them they are superior to those they hate and seek to subjugate. This message is very tempting to the fallen nature especially among the overwhelmingly poor and backward people who comprise the Muslim world. Islam is a religion that puts them in charge of “infidels” and elevates them above others.

I could go on and on, but you get the point, I think.

The Apostles and Prophets have a completely non man centered message to bring, one that tell us we are all sinner, depraved and ruined and responsible for our own misery. The Gospel humbles us and turns us as needy sinners to the God, who humbled himself and even died upon a rude cross!

Why would anyone turn from a man centered and man exalting vision like Islam or the New Age lie, to a broken and bleeding Saviour on a cross, dying for our sin and substituting for our guilt?

But we know that it is TRUTH. Truth is God sacrificing himself for his Creation, it is the Lion who is a Lamb bearing the very marks of slaughter in his flesh, yet being the central object of worship in Heaven. Truth is Love pouring out itself in sacrifice for sinners.

Here we are at the end, and I believe the God of the Bible is already sending strong delusion upon this generation…

Would The Apostles and Prophets sanction the perversions and licentiousness of today? Do you think they would go along with “Gay Pride” month? Would they preach universalism and multiculturalism in order to please the masses? Would they be able to make peace with the claims and demands of this generation?

You know the answer to that, and you know what this generation would do to them if they could, and what they will do to those few of us left who uphold the truth yet.

The Reason for their Damnation will be that they preferred the LIE to the Truth. They Loved the Darkness, as Jesus said, because their deeds were evil.

How they hate the Light that exposes! They now lash out at it, they persecute those who bear the light, and seek to silence us from speaking in the light.

We have come to the point where they just don’t want to hear it. They actually believe in their delusion that they have the right not to hear anything which contradicts their delusion.

Abortion is another example of this. We are long past the part where they debate whether or not a “fetus” is a human life. They know it is! It isn’t even debatable! They know Babies hurt and cry and cringe when instruments of slaughter invade the birth canal.

But the LIE is preferred above every human consideration, even the most sacred of them, such as motherhood. So they fight to the bitter end to have abortions. They march in the streets and parade around with obscene parodies of their own body parts, in support of the right to kill babies.

Abortion is the expression of total autonomy and of godlike power over life itself!

The reason they will be damned is because they prefer this lie and all of the Lies which make up the one great LIE, human autonomy, “You shall be as gods knowing good and evil…”.

So the Most High will give them the delusion they crave, He will allow them the fantasy for a brief moment, He will allow them to kill the last sympathy they once had with truth in their body deformed and diseased hearts.

  1. Atossa says:

In Luke 17, Jesus compared the evil end of the age to the “days of Noah” and “days of Lot” [Lot lived in Sodom] twin Bible examples of societies so much past the point of no return God intervened to destroy the evildoers. Jesus also compared His return to the fire from heaven that destroyed Sodom.

It sure is a very hard and difficult time we live in pastor Bill. I know, Jesus said it would be “perilous”. I try to smile and keep the joy of the Lord in my heart and not let what I see (everything you wrote about) get me down. I have several relatives who are “deluded”. And it is true, they will not listen to truth or anything that contradicts their delusion and warped thinking pattern. I hate to see and hear all this darkness. Then I must remember what Jesus says, to be of good cheer, that He has overcome this world and everything in it. Soon the final trumpet will blast and we will be changed from mortal to immortal and forever be with our Lord!!! Now every time I think of that it thrills my soul!!!! I pray the Lord’s blessings to everyone here.
I pray Melody is alright. I have not seen her write here in quite awhile.

  3. Dan says:

What a powerful message from the Lord for our time.

  4. Crystal, UK says:

Don’t stop preaching it Pastor Bill……it is life to those who love Jesus. May He continue to hedge you about in His loving care.

  5. Maureen Leigh says:

Yes, we love these words of life from you, Pastor Bill. The darkness is getting thicker, it has long been difficult to speak the truth to those outside, now it is just about impossible. Keep walking, everyone. He is beside us and will never leave us. God bless you all.

  6. stan says:

We seem to be in the prophecy of 2nd Timothy 3.I believe that we must be overcoming so strongly now.Saints of God fight the good fight and dont draw back, keep faith in Jesus.I believe a storm is coming and we can stand by faith in Jesus, but remember that we can not just be hearers of the Word but doers, and the promise of Jesus in Matthew 7:24,25 will take effect.Love and God bless you all in Jesus.Thank you Pastor for keeping us sober minded.

  7. Karen says:

Thank you Pastor Bill for an uplifting message. It is so difficult to tell family and friends about the times we live in. The “Christians” don’t want to hear it, and accuse me of judging them, when I simply want to share what is happening according to scripture. It feels more lonely than ever, but my mother taught me 50 years ago that Jesus will never leave us or forsake us!! Thank you Jesus!!
Keep up the good work, time is short.

  8. Wow!
I just want to be with Jesus.
This world is so sick and twisted.
People’s hearts are so sick and twisted.
    They do not fear God.

I just want to be with Jesus.
I love the part in the gospel where, come and see, we have found Him, the one the prophets spoke of.
What a day that must have been and I cannot wait to see Jesus…

Thank you Christ Jesus for saving me and delivering me and please come soon!
That is my prayer and occasionally I practice my rapture jump:)
    In Christ

  9. Roger says:

“.. And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness..”

Bill, you say: “..and I believe the God of the Bible is already sending strong delusion upon this generation…”

When I read this passage of Scripture, in context, my (and others) understanding is that God sends a ‘strong delusion/deluding influence’ AFTER the ‘lawless one’ is revealed.

It is worth serious consideration that where Scripture says: “For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe..” . that this his comes after the restrainer is taken away and the lawless one is revealed.

Everything you have shared in this series concerning delusion, deceptions and lies, many have already accepted and believe to be truth. I (and others) believe that these things you speak of are ALLOWED by God (rather than sent), maybe to separate those who have faith in Him and follow His truth – from those who have faith in themselves and are led away by deceptions and delusions.

Those who are presently led astray will then be judged by God with the sending of the final ‘deluding influence’. I believe He wants all of us to accept His truth and turn away from evil – Scripture confirms this – so presently we are exposed to deception, delusions and lies. God allows this as a temptation to us all – He tests us through temptations – and the acceptance of the final God sent ‘deluding influence’ if where those who accept that delusion judge themselves.

    In His love,

  10. Marilyn says:

Thank you Pastor Bill for your message please keep giving these messages as they are so encouraging. We cannot even share things like this in the Chirch we went to and tell them about the Lord’s Return. My husband has sent information from other Pastors about the End Times and his comment was he doesn’t have time to read them. How can we expect unbelievers to listen if a Pastor of a church won’t. What a delusive state we live in.

    • Maureen Leigh says:

Marilyn it was the same at my so-called church, they wouldn’t discuss anything “endtime” and you were made to feel out of place. Needless to say I am not there any longer.

  11. Brenda Culver says:

Thank you for a great article. You are right about Mohammed, but what about Zionism? This is a political movement that is taking over the whole earth not to mention out churches. If there ever was a mystery of lawlessness so deceptive, I don’t know what is. These are the jews that Jesus talk about as being of “synagogue of satan.” If there ever was a time of such great deception this is it. Believing that those corrupt leader in Israel are God’s people and that land is holy when it is the second largest gathering place for LGBT community in the world doesn’t honor the God we serve. Please open your eyes, we who are in Christ, jew and gentile alike have become one new man, are God’s chosen people.

    • stan says:

      Yes, Romans 2:28-29 Jeremiah 9:23-26

    • Jeanne T. says:

“what about Zionism? This is a political movement that is taking over the whole earth not to mention out churches. If there ever was a mystery of lawlessness so deceptive, I don’t know what is. These are the jews that Jesus talk about as being of “synagogue of satan.””

What Biblical text(s) support your claim that Zionists are the synagogue of Satan?

“we who are in Christ, jew and gentile alike have become one new man, are God’s chosen people.”

      Meaning what?

  12. Marleen says:

Atossa said: … the evil end of the age … the “days of Noah” and “days of Lot” [Lot lived in Sodom] …

    Ezekiel 16
48As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, your sister Sodom and her daughters never did as you and your daughters have done. 49Now this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed, and complacent; they did not help the poor and needy.

Opening post says: Mohammed is very appealing, almost irresistible to one out of seven people in the World, because He tells them they are superior to those they hate and seek to subjugate. This message is very tempting to the fallen nature especially among the overwhelmingly poor and backward people who comprise the Muslim world. Islam is a religion that puts them in charge of “infidels” and elevates them above others.

Apparently, it is very appealing to the very wealthy Saudis, too, including the prince who has people assassinated and imprisoned…

… and acceptable to their friends around the world (Muslim or NOT).

      Ellicott’s Commentary for English Readers
      (49) Pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness.

–The description strikes at the causes rather than the overt acts of sin, and the unnatural crimes which are always associated in our minds with the name of Sodom are not mentioned. It is noticeable, however, that the distinct sin which is mentioned in this passage is the negative one too common in all ages, “neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.”

    • Marleen says:

Isaiah 1; The entire first chapter is an utter condemnation of Judah. They are repeatedly compared with Sodom and Gomorrah in their evildoing and depravity. Throughout the chapter, the Prophet lists many sins of the people: rebelling against God, lacking in knowledge, deserting the Lord, idolatry, engaging in meaningless religious ritual, being unjust and oppressive to others, being insensitive to the needs of widows and orphans, committing murder, accepting bribes, etc. There is no reference to homosexuality or to any other sexual activities at all.

Jeremiah 23:14:”…among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: They commit adultery and live a lie. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one turns from his wickedness. They are all like Sodom to me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.” Jeremiah compares the actions of the prophets with the adultery, lying and evil of the people of Sodom. Homosexual activity is not mentioned.

Ezekeiel 16:49-50:”Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.” God states clearly that he destroyed Sodom’s sins because of their pride, their excess of food while the poor and needy suffered; sexual activity is not even mentioned.

Matthew 10:14-15: Jesus implied that the sin of the people of Sodom was to be inhospitable to strangers.

Luke 10:7-16: This is parallel passage to the verses from Matthew.

2 Peter 6-8: Peter mentions that God destroyed the adults and children of Sodom because the former were ungodly, unprincipled and lawless.

Jude, Verse 7: [The writer of ]{*}Jude disagreed with Jesus and Ezekeiel; he wrote that Sodom’s sins were sexual in nature. Various biblical translations of this passage in Jude describe the sin as: fornication, going after strange flesh, sexual immorality, perverted sensuality, homosexuality, lust of every kind, immoral acts and unnatural lust. It looks as if the translators were unclear of the meaning of the verse in its original Greek, and simply selected their favorite sin to attack. The original Greek is transliterated as: “sarkos heteras.” This can be translated as “other flesh”. Ironically, our English word “heterosexual” comes from “heteras.”

A likely interpretation is that the author of Jude 4 criticized the men of Sodom for wanting to engage in sexual activities with angels. Angels are described in the Bible as a species of created beings who were different from humans. ……..

      {* We could look at it as not disagreement but viewing a different angle or manifestation, or seeing one possible outcome of a way of thinking. It was ancient practice to perceive sex with representatives of a god as conferring power-strength-wealth — of which those who are wealthy and powerful can’t seem to get enough.}

  13. Israel Leon says:

The delusion is here. And those who are blinded first are these crazy godless leftist progressive democrats and some Republicans. I used to believe the church would not see the tribulation but my 77 yr old father in law. An old time gospel preacher always said we will see a little of it. I never believed him and though he was wrong because every other Bible teacher said we would not, But now I realize I was wrong and he was right.
