My Dear Kristin…( A threefold Cord)

Kristin, How could it be?

that we have almost passed forty years together?

Surely, Time is moving faster , at least it seems,

then when we first tremblingly took our vows,

And rejoiced in the rain…

Did we have any idea what our LORD had in store for us?

Neither of us knew, when we looked into each other’s eyes,

( and the shackles fell off, remember?)

As our friends gathered into the house,

and we all praised God for sheer joy

at what God had given us in each other…

Would I do it all over again if I could?

In a heartbeat , my love,

I would not hesitate,

to “have and to hold you”,

And to be your husband…

The great blessing of my life…

Ours is a threefold chord.,

Which has proven to be unbreakable,

It has held us, as we have held each other,

through all manner of storm and trial,

You and I and Jesus.
